The pack includes Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, combining the classic PS2 series with an enhanced visual appearance. The gameplay itself has been preserved to a great extent, including the signature fast-paced combat.

What makes DMC1 special is its atmosphere. The gothic castle, creepy enemies, fixed camera angles, exploration and surprisingly tense encounters give it an identity that later entries moved away from. Combat is simpler than DMC3, but there's still a satisfying amount of depth in juggling enemies, switching between sword and guns, using Devil Trigger, and learning enemy patterns.
Its biggest problems today are the camera, dated level design, and some awkward controls. The HD version also doesn't completely hide its age certain visual effects, menus and audio quirks remain.
Overall still a classic, but expect to deal with some early 2000’s game design.
[h3] Devil May Cry 2 [/h3]
DMC2 is not a total waste, but it is pretty boring compared to the other two titles. It does not have an engaging and complex combat system that its predecessor had, the enemy are not very exciting either, and the character is less fun. Moreover, there are big maps that lack atmosphere most of the time. Even contemporary reviews singled it out as the main drawback of the collection.
What is interesting is that Lucia's story provides you with another character to play, but it uses the same environments and fights, which makes it far from solving the game's problems.
My recommendation would be to play it for the sake of history and completeness only, without any guilt about moving to DMC3.

Hoo boy where do i even begin, this is probably my favourite game in the collection. You have several weapons and gun choices, various styles of Trickster, Swordmaster, Gunslinger and Royal Guard, and much more freedom in creating combos. It's also much more confident of Dante's personality. The game is ridiculous, stylish and over the top, while the combat is extremely tough.
Adding the playable Vergil to the package makes it even more great. The difficulty level should be noted too, DMC3 can absolutely destroy you apart if you are just starting to play it. However, unlike many games that are hard just for the sake of being hard, the difficulty is mostly pushing you to learn the combat system.
