Doesn't work. No daily puzzles, just a tutorial, exactly the same as DD's. People on the DD Discord confirmed: it has been abandoned some time ago. IDK about the full game, but at this point this isn't a demo of anything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The original game is one of the best. This game has a ton of small changes that so far are all for the better. The rewind feature is good but the ui needs some work. However, the daily dungeon (demo) isn't really for new players. So if you haven't played before you should get the original or wait for rewind's full release.

lots of good fun,and im sure the full game will be just as fun if not more! I mean uh.....oh I hate how all the information is displayed in a more digestible format and how the graphics are nicer....how dare they.......am I fitting in with the old people now?
I looked very forward to a new Desktop Dungeon cause I'm a huge fan of the first part. I enjoyed it for PC and mostly for my tablet and always wanted a mobile version... which never released. But hey a new game is also good and tried out the demo. And maybe they are going to add cool stuff... But regardless of content I am very disappointed about the new game (I know it's only a demo). The old game had every important information compact while in the new one you have to look everywhere, the overview sucks a lot I think. Maybe we will get used to it somehow but it's a step back in this matter. The graphics are nice, tho I didn't really need a 3d game, cause in 2d you saw everything important while the top side view can be confusing. Maybe a possible top view or alternative 2d mode with the old optics would be cool that people who liked the old style can play it the old way too. Else I'm looking forward what cool stuff they are going to add, hopely it's going to be an eternal game full of stuff to unlock like Desktop Dungeon 1.0 Tho I wasnt happy about the UI I still will leave it as a positive review cause I think they will support the game until it's good and they need and deserve out support 😼✨

It's a fun, beautiful, new twist on Desktop Dungeons

God this is so fun, the music is still so great, and I got sucked right in to the puzzle. Not too proud to say I squeed when I saw the fireworks. Feels much more fun than the original, so now I've got a problem on my hands, because I'm supposed to be a productive adult somehow...
Desktop Dungeons: Rewind - Daily Demo takes an unconventional approach to the traditional game demo by offering something designed around repeat visits rather than a single introductory playthrough. Developed by QCF Design and published by Prismatika and indienova, this free version distills the strategic foundations of Desktop Dungeons: Rewind into a rotating daily challenge. It blends turn-based dungeon crawling, roguelike unpredictability, RPG elements, and puzzle-like resource management into compact sessions where careful calculation is more valuable than quick reactions. The Daily Challenge forms the heart of the experience. Each day presents a procedurally generated dungeon and assigns a character class, creating a fresh tactical situation that players must decipher with the resources available. This structure works especially well because the game treats a dungeon less like a place to mindlessly clear and more like a large interconnected puzzle. Enemy placement, character levels, unexplored terrain, spells, health, mana, and other resources all influence the best route toward victory. Charging into every available battle is rarely the smartest strategy, and learning when to fight, retreat, explore, or preserve an opportunity for later is essential. Exploration is particularly important because unrevealed dungeon tiles function as a valuable resource. Discovering new territory restores health and mana, which means moving around carelessly can consume recovery opportunities that might be desperately needed later. This creates an interesting tension between wanting to reveal the dungeon and needing to conserve unexplored spaces. A player who wastes too much exploration early may reach a stronger opponent with insufficient means to recover, while someone who carefully manages the map can turn apparently impossible encounters into manageable ones. Combat itself is easy to understand but considerably harder to master. Encounters are turn-based and heavily influenced by numerical advantages, making it possible to evaluate the likely consequences of an attack before committing. However, surviving one battle is only part of the challenge. The real question is whether winning that fight leaves enough health, mana, unexplored territory, and other resources to handle everything that follows. This transforms even relatively ordinary enemies into strategic considerations. Leveling at an advantageous moment or saving a weaker enemy for later can become part of a broader plan rather than incidental decisions. The limited attempt structure adds pressure to the daily challenge. Failure cannot simply be erased through endless immediate retries, although the Daily Rewind mechanic provides another opportunity to tackle the challenge. This restriction encourages players to pay attention to mistakes instead of repeatedly testing solutions through brute force. It makes successful runs feel more meaningful, but it can also be one of the demo's more divisive qualities. Players who enjoy freely experimenting with strategies may find themselves wishing they could immediately replay the same configuration as many times as necessary. Leaderboards provide another layer of motivation. Completing the daily dungeon is satisfying on its own, but comparing performance encourages players to pursue more efficient solutions. Once the fundamentals are understood, optimization becomes a substantial part of the appeal. Instead of asking only whether a dungeon can be completed, experienced players can begin considering how cleanly they can execute a solution. The competitive aspect consequently gives the otherwise small-scale demo additional longevity for anyone interested in daily score chasing. Visually, the game favors a colorful isometric presentation that makes dungeon spaces readable without sacrificing personality. The fantasy setting is accompanied by a playful tone that prevents the demanding strategic mechanics from becoming overly dry. Information is generally presented clearly, which is particularly important in a game where understanding the current state of enemies and resources directly affects decision-making. The presentation supports the tactical gameplay instead of distracting from it, while the lighter aesthetic makes repeated short sessions pleasant. As a demo, its intentionally narrow scope needs to be kept in mind. This is not meant to reproduce the complete progression and breadth of the full game. Players wanting lengthy dungeon expeditions, unrestricted replaying, extensive progression, and a large amount of continuously accessible content will encounter its limitations quickly. The requirement for an active Internet connection is another consideration, particularly because the underlying gameplay otherwise feels naturally suited to short offline sessions. On the other hand, concentrating on a changing daily challenge makes the demo much more replayable than a conventional one-time tutorial. Steam Deck compatibility is rated Playable rather than Verified. The core experience functions on the handheld, including support for the default controller configuration and appropriate controller button prompts. Interface text is generally readable and the default graphical setup performs suitably, making the actual dungeon crawling comfortable on the Deck. The main qualification is that some situations involving text input can require manually opening the Steam Deck's on-screen keyboard. The online requirement should also be considered when playing away from a reliable connection. Overall, the compact nature of individual challenges makes it a good conceptual fit for portable play despite falling short of full Verified status. Desktop Dungeons: Rewind - Daily Demo ultimately succeeds at communicating what makes the larger game distinctive without simply presenting an abbreviated campaign. Its strongest qualities come from the interaction between exploration, recovery, combat calculations, procedural generation, character classes, and limited resources. Nearly every action has an opportunity cost, turning small dungeon maps into surprisingly intricate strategic problems. Its restrictions mean it should be viewed as a recurring sampler rather than a complete standalone experience, but within that purpose it offers a clever introduction to a deeply tactical dungeon-crawling formula. Players who enjoy compact strategy games, optimization challenges, roguelike variation, and puzzles built around making the most of limited resources should find plenty to appreciate. Rating: 8/10
