its alright! its honestly pretty good for a dev team of 2 people. The background art, guard or whatever of the like tunnel to the kingdom, and the art that is like from other games is good too. the lore is good but i wish it was potrayed better? I couldnt really tell if the mc we play as was a brother, a husband/father, or the mother? all in all the end i got explained it all so it cleared any confusion i had. The ending was cute and reassuring (beside the like 20th time the game broke the 4th wall lol) its a short free game about mental health and common issues families have and this game did an alright job at showing how it effects the kid.
I've been meaning to review this game for a while, And since it's a new year i thought now's the perfect time. But i played this game back in march, So i don't remember much. Uh, give it a try i guess.
I played Julian and Friends first but that is what lead me to here! I really enjoy their play style, the animations, stories, and design of the game. The story is a little depressing but that just makes it better, in my opinion. I really enjoyed NOT following instructions!
great game, not such a fan of it being so short, since it has fun game story, i dont know how to get the other 9 endings though. i keep on only getting the coma ending.
Decent story and fun, i went through it a couple times to see if i missed anything, including a long walk through the left door, great game definitely worth a try! Devs, if the green woman and the blue guy were in a fighting relationship, then why was she purple in the pictures on both of their walls, and if i recall correctly the pictures in the blue guys room were cracked, but later in the game were fixed, perhaps giving her another chance? But the end disproves this theory, so why? AND, as we all know, the boys favorite cartoon was like a replica of his life, but there was something i noticed, through many playthroughs, the parents in the cartoon are the same color as the parents in the pictures in the boys parents houses, so what does this mean? The dog seemed happy with his parents, but the game tells us that the boy was never happy about his parents relationship.
As another review has stated, it's linear and the positive reviews are misleading as they largely come in part from the developer's friends. I was hooked by the genre and review %, but it turned out to be a waste of time. The "game" is not as profound as it makes itself out to be. The story is wholesale bland. The meta commentary is tried and boring. There are no "Choices Matter", "Horror", or "Psychological" aspects. It is misleading dreck. I would have preferred experiencing forty minutes of derealization than playing Derealized. : /
