I mixed a classic turn-based strategy game (Heroes of Might and Magic 3) with deck building game like Slay the Spire. Also added a lot of reptiles :) Immerse yourself in a rich fantasy world. Develop your town and armies. Collect cards to create new crazy strategies.

About
Demiurges is a strategic roguelike game. Your mission is to save the world from destruction. To achieve this, you will need to build a deck of cards that defines your strategy, then carefully command your heroes to defeat your enemies.
You can move all of your heroes across the map. While exploring, they may discover new items, resources, special structures, and enemies that serve as valuable sources of experience. Defeating a region's guardian unlocks a new area of the map filled with fresh challenges. Once you obtain the Grail, the entire map advances to the next level.

One of the most important keys to success is building the right deck. Before each battle, you can create a deck using the cards you have already unlocked. Cards are obtained from packs that can be purchased with gems earned during gameplay. To play cards, you need resources that can be produced or gathered on the map. Be careful—some cards require sacrifices in order to be played.

When you encounter an enemy on your journey, you can engage them in battle. Combat takes place in a turn-based system on a hexagonal grid. Units take their turns based on their Initiative. Every unit has unique passive and active abilities, so you'll need to think carefully about every move to make the best use of their strengths.
Each faction has its own city. Using cards, you can develop it to support your strategy. Build new structures, recruit units, construct special buildings, and produce valuable resources.
You begin each run with a single Demiurge, but map events and cards allow you to recruit more. Demiurges are powerful heroes capable of casting spells and wielding mighty artifacts. By defeating enemies and gaining experience, a Demiurge learns new abilities and grows even stronger. They also command an army that fights alongside them against their foes.

This is a special game mode where you can test your skills against other players. Choose your cards wisely to build the strongest possible army, then send it into battle against seven other players in an autobattler competition.

It's a great game with a lot of cool ideas, but it needs more polishing. The core gameplay loop offers an interesting mix of the HOMM series with rogue-lite elements, creating an addictive and original formula. The global progression system using boosters encourages players to keep playing and adds variety to the experience. However, the game requires significant polishing, particularly in terms of UX/UI. For example, you can't properly play with one hand because you constantly need to use WASD to move between regions. Conversely, there are no hotkeys to quickly create 1-unit stacks or evenly split your units. Additionally, the first time I was in my castle, I spent several minutes trying to find a way out, only to discover that you need to press the TAB button. This is far from intuitive, as are many other aspects of the game. I also encountered two softlocks. The first occurred when my hero, who held the key to the next location, was killed along with his entire army. The second happened when the enemy attacked my castle while my hero was without an army. Another issue that needs addressing is the difficulty of enemy stacks and the rewards for defeating them. Often, you encounter enemies in overwhelming numbers (like 1500 units in a stack) guarding a single chest and a couple of piles of wood. Sometimes, a random boss encounter army that is larger than the main bosses in that area protects just one additional card. This creates a confusing balance that tests your patience more than your skills. I think the weakest part of the game for me is the music. I couldn’t get into it and ended up turning it off because it was hard to listen to. Instead, I played a HOMM playlist in the background, and the overall experience improved significantly. I am also working on a game that combines HOMM and rogue-lite elements and have experience as an indie game developer and producer. If the developer is interested in a conversation, they can contact me here on Steam. I’d be happy to discuss their project and share experiences.

I'd not generally recommend this game yet, as it's not there yet for general audiences, however if you like playtesting things and providing feedback I'd say it's at a point where you may enjoy it. But it's in Early Access and I believe that the dev will get it there. So this is a very optimistic not recommended. I look forward to switching it to a recommendation in the future and I will be updating my review as i continue to play. Description: People say it's like Heroes of Might and Magic 3 but I'd say this game in it's current state reminds me a lot more of the first Heroes of Might and Magic game in general Aesthetic and sound. It has a deck that you draw from each turn in the overworld to build, boost your heroes or recruit monsters. You don't use the cards in combat and you build your deck out before the game begins and don't seem to alter it much at all during the actual game so I'd compare it more to an sort of Magic the Gathering type game than Slay the Spire. It's also a roguelite rather than a rougelike like slay the spire. Pros: There are a lot of great ideas here The Aesthetics set it apart some, it gives a very nice windows 3.1 game aesthetic Interesting troop attributes/abilitys Does well in setting itself apart from other games Cons: The mechanics and ideas at play here are very interesting but i feel that work needs to be done to make them interconnect better and in more interesting ways, some things may need a complete rework to reach their real potential such as the actual deckbuilding aspect and the town building In it's current state the battles do not feel as tactical as i feel they could be As far as i have seen there's no artifacts or equipment that you can buy or find on the map Deckbuilding and card use is limited to overworld, which is interesting but it'd be nice to have a deckbuilding aspect tied to combat, perhaps in the form of your abilities and spells. The movement/attack animations feel weird, work may need to be done to both speed it up a little bit and change the timing so that it feels more impactful? this however is a fairly small nitpick compared to the others.
Writing early to support the developer. First 30 minutes seem interesting enough to want to come back, the card combo with the HoMM-style strategy seems to work, but I'm curious to see how many cards there are for the deckbuilding aspect. There's a threat meter as the time goes that spawns enemies, which I think may be an interesting twist. One thing I hope to see improved as it's still EA is quicker unit movement on the battlefield. I'll update with more thoughts as I play further.
Same efekty dźwiękowe, można by było ocenić spokojnie na 8 / 10. Podsumowując: Zachęcam do zagrania w grę.
Haven't played a ton of this yet but so far it's pretty interesting. The only other game that I've played in this vein is Songs of Conquest. Which i personally didn't love. This game is visually more of my style and I do enjoy the card system. Also in case anyone else is wondering it runs totally fine on the Steam Deck although it's much more natural feeling on desktop.
Scratches that Heroes itch with quite a bit interesting design. Gameplay feels pretty solid. Somewhat simplified Heroes merged with Roguelike elements. Only thing that is lacking is visual clarity and some gameplay 'juice'.
What is good: 1) It works 2) It has it's unique style What is not good: 1) Player has no idea what he is doing. Like, okay, grab mines fight monsters but there is literally no tip how to reach... anything. 2) Deckbuilding? You mean adding random cards to the deck and hoping it will work? Meanwhile not having a clue what is good/what is bad. 3) Unbalanced resources. Like 0 balance. There are 3 resources, but you will drown in stone while there is no wood like anywhere. 4) WTF learning curve. So after the snow something area you get to the area where every pack of monster is thousands minimum, while having a pack of 100 of yours troops is an achivment. 5) WTF learing curve part2: so yea, you mastered not losing ANY troops in ANY fights so you can acctualy beat thousands of enemies. But ♥♥♥ dat - there is enemy spawning and chasing you, and the enemy has a freakin mind control. So ♥♥♥ your skills, you will get mind cotroled and bye bye. 6) Monster dwellings in area 2 and above - they have no point to be there. Why should I spend resources/turns/movement just to get some trees which are utter ♥♥♥♥ and there is 1 per week? In area in which a minimum stack of enemies is 800+? 7) NOTHING is being explained. After 10 hours I have no idea what the "bed" (?) resource (?) is and what for. How to unlock any other caste? Idk, probably need to buy other character or sth. 8) Spells that cost like 10 combinded resource are like haste or some utter ♥♥♥♥ debuff. Why even bother creating such things, idk. There is no time to use ANY tactics because you will get mind controlled in few turns, so why someone should invest on super expensive and super useless spells? Idk. 9) Deckbuilding?! I am unable to navigate my deck, see cards or filter them. It's horrible, but yeah, you create a deck. I believe that the game is somewhere in early alpha and dev focused in making it work. But it seems didn't put much effort in anything else.
Easy recommend to HoMM3 gamers. It's a quicker and more linear style game while keeping things unique. It requires some strategy, not as much as HoMM3 to play well. Overall, for the price and for fans of HoMM3, this is a great unique experience to play while we wait for olden era. Easy to pick up and play. Not familiar with HoMM? - This is a simple to understand strategy that's refreshing and priced perfectly. Great if you like to build up an army and clash dudes. The screenshots are a little intimidating, but learning the game comes quickly during your first match.
