Recommended. I’m about two hours into Deluge so far, and it’s a solid little indie RPG with a lot of care behind it. The atmosphere is strong, the world has a strange and interesting feel, and there’s a good mix of exploration, mystery, and classic turn-based combat. It feels compact without feeling thin, and there’s enough personality in the writing and presentation to make it stand out. Worth checking out if you like darker RPG Maker-style games with secrets and a lot of heart.
Emerge from distasteful soil and haunt a village as the skeleton of a dashing man named Hudson! Deluge is a turn-based RPG meets adventure game with some horror elements. Choices matter in this game, as you can raise terror upon this little village or you can spare the inhabitants and help the poor souls in these trying times. I had a whole lotta fun with this and I look forward to going for the additional endings. The controls feel SMOOTH. Everything about this game feels so polished. There are simple yet flashy camera effects. The dialogue boxes are quite charming. A skeleton hand is the mouse cursor. NPCs have that Legend of Zelda like voice acting. Every puzzle you solve is satisfying and the game never holds your hand. The combat is simple yet effective. It is a single character turn-based RPG. So every action matters a lot. But it felt good getting strong enough to not need to rely on items. The monsters are scary and hilarious at the same time, which makes me think there is some Mother series influence there. The story is the heart and soul of this game. It’s not just a silly skeleton running around doing skeleton-like things. It’s about regret, redemption, and forgiveness. You earn backstory as you solve puzzles and proceed through the mystery. Hudson is a flawed man, yet the villagers appear to have deeply loved him despite his flaws. He was a good man. He was a bad man. He was a cowardly man. But his skeleton has a chance to redeem it all. Or burn it all to the ground. PLAY THIS GAME, you will not regret it!

It's very RPG Maker, which is a fairly limited engine and the game could benefit from being built in a more robust one. But for what it is it is good

First playthrough of Deluge on release weekend! Works great on steamdeck if you change community layout to "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse," awesome accessibility features including always-run and disable zoom. Worldbuilding is incredible, the story line is extremely well written, I'm completely blown away with the various lore and depth to this title. The soundtrack is great- one of those games that cleverly reuses some tracks in very different ways to create a really immersive experience as the story unfolds. I got the neutral ending, and received some hints at the end as to how to get the perfect ending. You can tell that a ton went into curating this world so I'm stoked to revisit this for the perfect (and bad) endings to see what changes it brings I helped create the physical version of the videogame (PC-ROM playable disc) and its soundtrack OST as a 2xCD. they're available from riggy2k3 at expos, in select retailers, and online via http://delisted.world
For a game that describes itself as a horror-centric fantasy, this sure was a charming lil adventure. I really enjoyed the story & the lore, and though you can definitely feel that it's an RPGMaker game it's got enough uniqueness going for it to help it feel distinct. I only wish the story was a tad longer - but I guess that's what the multiple endings encourage
I have a couple of hours into this game and wanted to put my initial thoughts down. The pixel graphics are amazing. The combat is simple turn based but actually quite difficult. The premise/story has me hooked. The game drops you into this world and doesn't hold your hand. You find books that give you lore tidbits. I look forward to continuing playing it and seeing where it goes.
pretty awesome
