Rock and Stone!!! さあ、お前も叫べ! Rock and Stone! 声が小さい! 「Rock and Stone!!!」
I tried. Quite a few times over the years. No. It's not that I have a problem with co-op shooters, especially the loot shoot kind since the bane of my existence seems to be the Borderlands franchise or similar, but I've never been terribly fond of this one no matter how much I force myself to get acclimated to it. Despite knowing a few friends that have this that still do play it, and wanting to take some time to get better to have fun with it, that opinion continues to remain unchanged. There's really nothing I like in the few hours I've seen that I'm willing to play or practice on to get any better at. Much of what I see appears to be a pretty same-y loop that just isn't interesting and borders on annoying more than anything. What I do hear from people that have hundreds of hours more on it than myself is how generally frustrating it is once you decide to increase the difficulty which is probably even worse - we go from one annoyance to another. Put that all together and it gives me little reason to pursue it with such a vocal amount telling me otherwise. Even though they play it. Which isn't weird to me I suppose. I do play Mahjong. I do have a masochist streak to me in some things but I'd rather not expand on that with this title. Anyways, that could be unique to me but when I browse other reviews I seem to find a common ground on that, especially as of late. I wish I could say better. It's one of those things that I wish I could be part of the 'overwhelmingly positive' crowd but sadly there's just nothing here that hooks me to do so.
This game is really not that good, Tom peer pressured me into buying it only for it to be the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over. I don't like Tom.
Used to be a top notch game, then they abandoned it / made it an advertisement to the other boring sideprojects.

♥♥♥♥ game to play solo, don't buy if you were planning to go alone. you are expected to climb straight up walls to escape when you finish the objectives but if you aren't playing a certain class you just have to mine a staircase up, which takes forever and means you miss the drop pod and fail a 40 minute mission. Worse yet, the class I'm playing has a zipline but you can't climb vertically with it, it only lets you fire it horizontally to the ground.
Step aside, wimps. Listen to a deepbeard. After almost 1000 hours of gameplay my unbegrudgingly verdict is that this game rocks. The booming explosions, the mesmerizing music, the phat hips as the dwarves run. It's all magnificent. The game is crystal clear of a beauty to look at, the music is euphonic as it strikes those rich notes, and boy, when the bass drops it's a mystical mix between glory and techno dwarfness that takes you to deeper depths in wonder and inner resonance. The very best gem about this game after so many hours is that the end game offers a different challenge that changes from the tactical to the strategic. The gameplay changes from being about raw firepower to correct positioning and teamwork, requiring more thought about how to approach fights and enemy types. Now drop on down and mine it all for yourselves as you go from a lowly greenbeard to a mountainous lavabeard by progressively cranking it up to Haz 5++ while discovering what the fuss is all about with Deep Rock Galactic.
I recommend Rock and Stone, brothers! This is literally the best four-player co-op shooter I've ever played. Everything is perfect: the procedurally generated caves that never repeat, the complete destructibility of the environment, and the four completely unique classes of dwarves that complement each other perfectly. The shooting is juicy, the guns feel massive, and the atmosphere of the dark depths of Hoxxes is 10 out of 10. But the true gem of this game is the community. There's no toxicity here. You join random players, press the "V" button, your dwarf shouts "Rock and Stone!", and the entire team instantly becomes your best friends. The developers are saintly people, all updates are free, and the battle pass doesn't require a single penny of real money. If you're looking for a game to have fun with friends or decent workers, don't hesitate to grab it. Management will be pleased!
This game is peak fr fr, perhapes the best shooter i have played in my life it is as kino artstyle and ambience you can get, the inmersion of being a silly little dwarf going mining is unmatched. The Best Comunity in gaming and its not close, the comradery is unmatched. The depth found in its systems is great and 500 hours in and it doesnt stop, I am learning and getting better and experimenting and forging and tinkering with the many weapons and their vastly transformative options, systems and mechanics. In many games you would have many shotguns with few changing numbers, here you have 2 and they have a mechanical variety of a couple dozen(putting it lightly) in their gamefeel. Play it with friends if you like hilarious shenanigans of absolute chaos where hordes are endless and nukes are plenty, play it alone(or with serious company) if you want the truest experience that videogames can provide, becoming something that we couldnt be in our daily lives, to become a silly dwarf chanting silly catchphrases working for a galactic mining corporation whose priorities are profits above ethics while fighting unending alien hordes. Rock and Stone! (game is also great for budget players with specs attached being my laptop, almost anyone can experience this gem of an experience)
