Real fun and different kind of game. Use cards to fight off enemies each night and buy/upgrade afterwards. Simple and addictive. Only complaint is that harder difficulties is really just about getting lucky with artifacts and cards than real skill. For the low price, it's worth it though. Really love the retro art style too. I would recommend it.
I like the concept of the game, the base that keeps upgrading, facing waves as you get stronger is satisfying . Its a simple game, and it works. For the price getting a few hours of playtime is worth it. Difficulty wise, game is really easy once you see how to beat it, even at higher difficulty. I only now at Difficulty 30 started to struggle. The first few levels are the hard ones until you upgrade enough that you just blast everything on screen. The reason is that there is very little on the enemies that force you to think about your choices, the enemies are just "targets" so there is very little planning, just break through any line, and go ham. I played a few times, and I think I don't have a reason to keep playing much more. There is so much possible depth and combos in the cards, but the gameplay just rewards breaking and spamming.

With how much fun I had with Talented, picking this game up was a no-brainer and I'm not disappointed in the slightest. Though very much still in the early stages, there's enough here to really sink your teeth into and find some satisfyingly overpowered builds while still providing quite a challenge. The tower-defense-esque real time card combat is fairly intuitive, especially with being able to use number keys to rapidly fire off what's in your hand. It's hard to go wrong with this solid foundation of a game, and you need only look to Talented to know they're capable of delivering a real gem in the long term.
Starts out promising, and given the developer's previous smash hit (Talented) I'm very curious and excited to see where this goes! So far I mostly 100%'ed it, and still finding myself going on a run from time to time. For the price I would 100% recommend it - it's what you'd quintessentially call an indie gem.
the devs have a proven track record with constant content update to their games i love the careful use of color. the game systems are simple enough and easy to pick up. it has a nice level of complexity and the difficulty level is well tuned. loving it so far. glad i got it
it is fun. it's not super well...articulated? it's pain point is in its mechanics. being able to win on hard difficulties is about being able to drag cards from your hand to the board without really understanding what you're doing. That very much incentivizes certain kinds of builds. I'm not sure if this is their intent. For the blind need to play cards as fast as possible to be the constraining factor. I also haven't tried to play in such a way that I could be the slowest possible. My first impulse is to recommend a RTwPause style play...to allow me to utilize my hand at any moment, and play all my moves at any moment, and then wait for the board to resolve... I like it. I'm probably close to done with it. And I feel it has more in it. And the major boredom I encounter is the fact that I just need to play in this one specific way, with the way the mechanics are so far set up.
I´ve already played a ton of the developers earlier title "Talented" and they just make every right decision in the development process! Unique blend of genres, wonderfully addictive gameplay, creative solutions for progression systems and more. My short video review where I go more into detail can be seen here: https://youtu.be/VhTPqU2GI30
Decked Out is one of those games where you tell yourself, "I'll only play for 15 minutes", and then suddenly it's dark outside. It's a fun spin on the deck-building roguelike formula that I will definitely be spending more time with, and I'm excited to see what else comes of it.
This just hit Early Access and there needs to be more content added and some balance ironed out, but at 4 dollars this is already more than worth the price. In the same way the Final Fantasy 7 took the turn-based ideas of JRPGS and melded them with real-time combat, this game is like an active, real-time Slay the Spire with skills you have to aim. My biggest complaint is once you complete a run or two and know what passives to attach to which cards, there are a few strategies that are too easy to abuse to break a run right now. I think balance and/or a bigger card pool will alleviate this though. Anyway - this game's got the juice. I like it much more than the Vampire Survivors card game and this is half the price, for what that's worth.
Honestly a great idea for the game. Most things run smoothly and I really had fun, but it's not a lot of thinking and mostly a lot of spamming while barely looking at what you're aiming at, just dragging mouse back and forth from your cards to the battlefield. - it becomes tedious the further you get into a run and I think that's the main flaw of the game. I think the best way to fix this is just to make the battlefield larger. enemies spawn so close to your Hero that you barely have any time to think and just start throwing cards at the screen, whereas if I had a little more time before enemies was at my hero I would enjoy this title so much more. I played their first game Talented, and I get that the art style is the same, but I would love to have an option to choose between actual colours and the green greyish art style. Those two are my main issues so far, and the art style isn't really that big a deal, it's mainly the tiny battlefield that I think pushes the game towards a very spammy, not so deep game design. Change that / create a new gamemode with extended space and I think you'll have a crazy good game at your hands. Very addicting gameplay, figure out a system to make unlocks not hinder your runs, like an in run ban system or something.
