Observe your surroundings and check your cameras. When you see or hear anything unusual - mark this in your ghost hunting software and get number which you mark thus excluding it from the combination. Your goal is to find the right frequency before ghost catches you. The more clues you gather the more easy it is to break the code and you only have one try. You gonna see different anomalies like blinking lights, voices, markings or objects disappearing. Some of them will mess with your cameras. Overall neat idea but execution leaves something unfinished. Finishing level is quite challenging. Game have some issues with low framerate in the menus. Overall feels basic. More like a novelty than actual game with reliable gameplay. Still worth checking out if you like FNAF like games.
i absolutely love this game its a fun mix between observation duty and fnaf as you have to take your time to find items but you always have to watch you back to keep the entity away and i like this unique blend of horror cant wait for the full release tomorrow so i can experience it in VR
Before I played DEATHWATCH - PRELUDE, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
VERY SCARY for a demo, this is really well done. i have to say, the tension that arises from monitoring cameras to see for anomalies when you don't even remember exactly how everything is meant to look is truly something. i was on the edge of my seat, and with the added audio triggers i was SCARED. the jumpscare when you get attacked from behind could be a bit scarier though! it's super slow and underwhelming. i suggest one tries the demo before buying the full game because these sort of memory games may not be for everyone! the game brightness is super low on default and many visual changes are quite subtle in my opinion so it's quite stressful indeed
"DEATHWATCH - PRELUDE" is is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "DEATHWATCH". DEATHWATCH is a low key Unity asset flip, a basic Five Nights at Freddy's ripoff where, you guessed it, you monitor your cameras and do some platespinning to avoid getting jumpscared. Needless to say, it was a dismal failure here on Steam Direct. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not DEATHWATCH, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "DEATHWATCH - PRELUDE" too. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to shell out a whopping $7 USD on buying DEATHWATCH, and I don't recommend you do that either. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 9 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.
