About
Deadline plunges you into the heart of indie horror with spine-chilling themes and relentless tension. Developed solo in Unreal Engine, this pixelated survival horror game challenges you to outlast the encroaching darkness across three haunting levels: a sterile Lab, a Creepy Carnival, and a forsaken School. Each environment drags you deeper into a world where every choice could be your last. Your reason for living? Scavenge consumables, extend your Deadline, and chase the ultimate high score. But can you survive long enough to escape?
Three Haunting Levels: Explore uniquely unsettling settings; A sterile Lab with flickering lights, a Creepy Carnival filled with warped attractions, and a haunted School echoing with ghostly whispers. Each level ramps up the dread with distinct challenges and atmospheres.
Survival Through Scavenging: Search for consumables like food, batteries, or medical supplies scattered across atmospheric environments to prolong your survival. Every item you find pushes back your Deadline, but hesitation could cost you everything.
High-Score Chase: Compete against yourself and friends by surviving as long as possible. Replay levels and memorise item placements to ensure every run can last longer.
Pixelated Horror Aesthetic: Retro-inspired pixel art meets Unreal Engine’s atmospheric lighting and effects, crafting a visually striking contrast of nostalgic visuals and modern terror.
Immersive Soundtrack: A chilling, original soundtrack amplifies the tension, with eerie ambient noises and heart-pounding cues that react to your actions.
Tight, Tense Playtime: Expect a couple hours of gameplay, with high replayability for those hunting perfect runs or higher scores. Perfect for quick, intense sessions or obsessive mastery.
Solo-Dev Passion Project: Crafted by a single developer, Deadline delivers a raw, personal horror experience that’s both compact and unforgettable.
This isn’t just another horror game
It’s challenge that tests your decision making as well as your patience. The pixelated art style blends retro nostalgia with modern technology, while the ever-looming Deadline mechanic creates a constant sense of urgency. Deadline offers indie horror fans a bite-sized yet replayable nightmare that lingers long after the screen fades to black.

Supporting indie games like Dead Line is so important because these projects are the lifeblood of creativity in gaming. Unlike big-budget blockbusters, indie titles are often labors of love
Overall this game is pretty well made, i did have some issues with things listed below but the game style and aesthetics are very nice and retro horror style. Pros: game looks good, game plays well. music was ok. puzzle was interesting yet frustrating at times. Cons: main and music volume in settings instantly go to 0 when adjusting. No story or purpose to keep playing besides beating the puzzle. some levels can be skipped entirely. the cabinets do not open with full inventory. brightness settings do not stay in game after death. jumpscares are nonexistant. they are too far away to be considered a scare at all, if anything i thought they were an npc i could talk to. level 2 is confusing and can be bypassed in like 10 seconds. gives keys before you know where any of the doors are. notes are not very informative and some just confused me. (could be operator error) Id say this is a good game for the puzzles and trying to finish the level before you lose all your health, anything else and id say it falls a bit short. overall the concept was great but still needs some fine tuning to make it more enjoyable and scarier for the player.
