Deadliest Pigeon

So, I have very mixed feelings on this game. The guns and some of the movement feel very satisfying at times, but this is often juxtaposed against very poor level and enemy design. Most enemies that don't fire a weapon just run straight towards you with no other variation, which is especially noticeable with most of the levels being straight caves or open paths. You can pretty much fly over most enemies and make it to the next checkpoint with no downside for doing it. I really wanted for there to be some level variety that makes you want to choose between different dropped guns for their situational advantage, but it mostly boils down to finding your favorite one and just mindlessly shooting. And honestly, some of these issues wouldn't be so big for me if the game was shorter or had some more story tying it all together. I had no tangible feeling of a progressing narrative. I'm not asking for something complex, just some breadcrumbs that make me want to keep going. About halfway through I was begging for it to be over, and that's not a feeling I get often in games. Still, I would love to see where this dev goes, because there is a solid basis for a game here. It just needed a little more time in the oven.
