Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Same day: best AU #89, worst UK #97 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5/day in the week to Sep 11 → 24.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

There’s been a backlog of unsolved cases piling up in the Minor Crimes Division of the Los Zorangeles Police Department and we’ll need a Database Detective to help solve them.
We’ll need you to analyze clues and manipulate data using SQL, a database querying language, to figure out who perpetrated crimes from as minor as littering to as serious as not checking out of a hotel after the check-out time.

Don’t worry! This role is intended to be accessible for those without any SQL experience, so each Database Detective is given an introductory textbook when they start! This short textbook is less than 20 pages and explains everything that’s needed to solve each case.
If you still have trouble writing queries, our comprehensive error messaging system will tell you exactly where your query went wrong, making it easy to correct your mistakes.
Still not enough? Each Database Detective is assigned an assistant who’s ready to answer any questions you might have, whether they be about the case itself or the SQL queries you’ll need to write!

Understanding how to manipulate data using SQL is not the only part of being a Database Detective! Your job will also require you to piece together evidence and clues, just like a real detective! Further on in your Database Detective career, you’ll have to sleuth through the internet and piece cases together yourself.
Fully voice acted mission briefings at the beginning of each case!
Fully hand drawn art for you to enjoy!
More than 40 websites to explore!
10 cases for you to solve, each case getting longer and more complex!
A total of around 8-10 hours of valuable work experience to add to your resume!

Adorable puzzle game
This is an educational/detective game where you use SQL (yeah, the markup language) to figure out very serious cases, like grouting out who put pineapple on pizza. The game actually does a good job on teaching the concepts, enables you to create more tables based on a query (very important for the latter cases) and has a great code highlighting, so yes, it is unironically a great place to improve you SQL skill and have some fun with it. However, the game isn't just programming, you first have to figure out what must be done, and here comes the detective part. It is very fun t put everything together, and the later cases feel very good to solve. I've played the demo previously, so my playtime isn't that accurate, but the cases get pretty hard without being too obscure. I find the difficulty well balanced. Now, the game could become boring if it was just some SQL lessons with a typical detective background. The game is really funny because the cases are very ridiculous and even mundane, while the boss VA speaks as if the criminal was literally the worst human ever, which is hilarious. The old windows aesthetic is very cool and cute, I love that. The game is so whimsical while believing it is doing serious work, a humor that actually worked really well for me. Overall a great and well-made game. If you find the premise remotely interesting, you will probably love this game.

Absolutely love it, british style humor, good learning curve on the SQL, focus on the puzzle solving rather than SQL crafting. EDIT: after completing the game, I can for sure say it's an amazing game. Now to hunt for the achievements!
fun way to blast through my personal time after a day of navigating databases at work :)
I picked this game because I needed to learn a bit of SQL for my dayjob. I feel like by about mission 7 I already knew everything I needed to know about SQL and I was starting to feel reasonably comfortable with its syntax, but the game kept going. And man, those cases escalated way beyond SQL lessons into being genuinely pretty complex investigations with a sprawling network of clues that you have to piece together. By mission 8 or so I felt like clues that you can obtain just by constructing an SQL query were easier to find than those which required reading in-game wikis, hacking and browing the in-game internet, especially considering many of those clues are hidden where you don't exactly expect them. Cool game, but it gets pretty challenging in ways that have little to do with SQL.
This is just my job. Why am I playing a game that is just my job? 11/10
Great game that exposes how little I do actually know about SQL queries. I'm having a hard time getting a grasp on using self-joins for case 8. It's a frustrating experience being stuck in a case, but it's humbling too. I avoid using chatgpt because that would be cheating, the bad thing is, it took me around 7 hours to figure out case 7 and it's taking me like 3 hours on case 8. I do recommend it. Is part SQL part puzzle. Very fun and rewarding when I actually figure it out. Each case is exponentially harder than the last. Be ware.
👍
This is a big ask but I think I should get a certification, from not understanding SQL to knowing some SQL and I feel like I got a whole lesson on SQL where is certification (also omg achievements, how do i unlock them all aaaa)
