I have mixed feelings on this one. On the upshot, it's an okay horror game (though "horror" in this case is a dark atmosphere combined with the occasional very telegraphed jump scare with a ear splitting scream) and the combat is okay, if boring. The art is usually decent (though there's a serious mishmash of styles on the hunting UI), and the music is mostly good and you usually don't need to stay in one place for long so even the mediocre tracks don't overstay their welcome. On the downside, it's about 15 minutes long with everything else being tedious makework and grinding. The fishing minigame isn't too bad, and it's completely optional. The hunting minigame is okay at first, but it's mandatory and you will hate it by the end of the game. There is no reason to have it other than inflating the play time so that people can't ask for a refund. It's so insultingly transparent that it inspired me to not recommend the game. It's just that tedious, especially since most of it is either waiting for the 'searching' message to disappear or clicking past the animals you don't need so that you can hunt the ones you actually have to catch. Everything about it drags an okay game down into being a terrible experience. There are also some puzzles, but they're all grade school level stuff that you can easily do without any trouble. It says to write down notes, but that's just to jot down a couple of combination codes and solve a singular math problem. This should have been the part used to inflate the playtime, because I was set up for some proper puzzles. Finally, there's the end of game plot twist. I'm not going to spoil it, but it's very disappointing that it wasn't followed up by a boss fight. The game just kind of...ends. And then it tells you that you suck because you missed some achievements. Yeah, I'm not playing through that horrible hunting minigame again just to get those. Screw you, game.

Dark Fear is basically what you'd get if a Sierra adventure game from the 90s got possessed by a demon, and combining its atmospheric horror/adventure with RPG elements together nicely to tell a compelling, yet grizzly tale. Simply booting the game and seeing the floppy disk boot screen alone had me smiling. But you know what else this game reminds me of? Cabin in the Woods. Anyway, combat is fairly simple. There's a little power meter you time your hits with, and it's quite satisfying once you get used to it. The score counter at the top (old school Sierra style) hits different when it ticks up after you solve something. RPG elements sneak in too, like leveling and buying gears or hunting for animals and fishing, which I wasn't expecting but totally welcomed. Now, some warning: pixel hunting is real here. I spent an embarrassing amount of time looking for a rock. A rock. The environments aren't huge, but some items are basically camouflaged into the scenery. There's also a trick where dragging an item around lights things up, which helps, but it's somewhat clunky. Still, none of that stopped me from being completely hooked on the mystery. Its flaws are small compared to the quality and mystery of the overall experience. Honestly a shame it sat untouched in my library since I picked it up back in Oct 2016 — but that's on me.
I went in with low expectations and was very pleasantly surprised. This is a really solid horror pnc rpg with some jumpscares. Very king's quest inspired. Well worth at the normal price or sale price
we need chinese, we need chinese, we need chinese.
All the fun of old school point and clicks with modern quality of life improvements, streamlined game play and solid level and puzzle design. I only got stumped hard once, the rest of the times I paused to figure things out it hit just the right sweet spot of knowing what to do and thinking it through. There's a bit of grinding to get the best crafting supplies while hunting, but it's nothing too bad at all and won't take long. Tonally it walks the line between maintaining a creepy atmosphere with a couple great jump scares - but it's balanced by the Turner Horror movie roster of villains and never gets too intense. Highly recommend for those who are into this kinda thing. And a great gateway for players new to the genre.
Don't ask and tell because you got to play it without knowing the true dark fear of the horror flash game from the 2000s.
Very nostalgic of my early years of PC gaming, reminiscent of old Sierra and Macventure games. You don't really do much but click the mouse, and it's not really scary or anything. But if you're an old gamer like myself, you'll be drawn in by the classic pixel art, descriptive text and puzzles.

Ничего не понятно. но очень интересно
画风和bgm我很喜欢,玩法太一般了,特别是反复刷钱,重复大量无意义的QTE。甚至连战斗也是QTE。而且路线规划太死了,完全的线性,不给玩家一点空间
