Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

An absolute gem in the genre and a definite must-play. Characters are varied and the mysteries are interesting and fun to solve (although your character is quite stupid). The dialogues are cheesy and pulp and somehow always hold your attention. You might even get some feels depending on who you empathize with. The game has many gameplay shortcuts that make the experience quite enjoyable! The voice acting in Japanese is sublime and the art is super satisfying, too :> It has several flaws however, which include an off-beat rhythm game (URG WHY), sexism and misogyny, sexualisation of minors (by other minors tho), and heavy transphobia. There is also some fatphobia and some heavy body shaming, with implied eating disorders that are played for fun. SPOILER FOR DETAILED CW Girls are all sexualised and treated as sluts or fodder for sexual fantasies, and some r*ape jokes are made. A character presupposed to be an adult sexualises most of their students (until it is revealed they are also underaged). There is heavy kink-shaming, going as far as to link sexual deviance from the norm and serial killer persona. The transphobia is most present and hard to ignore as it is a running gag, the main clue to a mystery and an important aspect for a bonus game gameplay loop. Technically it is admissible because the character themselves identifies with their assigned gender at birth, but the vocabulary and associated tropes and jokes can be quite cruel.
