About
Curyeux is a dreamlike puzzle-platformer where Lucienne Grégoire, the protagonist, embarks on a personal quest for meaning. Journey through fragmented memories drawn from her artistic world, as she dives deep into a period of intense introspection.

Each level is a piece of memory, where logic gives way to perception. You’ll need to run, jump, solve, circumvent, and understand in order to move forward… and uncover yourself along the way.
The adventure leads you through ever-changing painterly environments : sketches, watercolors, bursts of color and brushstrokes, where appearances are often deceiving. Lucienne must learn to see through her own illusions, accept who she is, and break free from the gaze of others.
🎨 A variety of painterly landscapes, where every shape reflects an emotional state.
🧠 Puzzles that challenge your reasoning and perception : observe, understand, and experiment.
🌌 A symbolic and touching narrative, told through the environment, movement, sound, and gameplay.
An introspective journey about identity, self-acceptance, and the transformative power of doubt.

Gra jest przemyślana, ciekawa artystycznie, zagadki miejscami wymagające refleksu. Generalnie polecam.

Curyeux is a creative third-person puzzle-platforming adventure that uses painting, memories, and shifting perspectives to tell a personal story. Developed by Campus ADN 2024-2025 and published by Campus ADN, it follows Lucienne Grégoire, a painter whose journey takes place through unusual worlds shaped by her memories and emotions. Instead of building its identity around combat or complicated progression systems, the game focuses on exploration, environmental puzzles, accessible platforming, and visual storytelling. It feels closer to an interactive artistic experience than a conventional action-adventure game, which gives it an immediately recognizable personality. The visual presentation is easily one of its most interesting qualities. Lucienne travels through environments that resemble paintings brought to life, with sketches, colorful surfaces, abstract structures, and surreal arrangements creating the impression that the player is moving through unfinished pieces of artwork. Different visual ideas help communicate changes in mood and memory, making the scenery an important part of the narrative rather than simple decoration. There is an intentionally dreamlike quality to these locations, and the game frequently plays with the idea that appearances cannot always be trusted. This concept also influences the puzzle design. Progress requires players to carefully examine their surroundings, reconsider what they initially believe they are seeing, and experiment with environmental elements. The puzzles are generally built around observation and perception instead of complicated inventories or elaborate mechanical systems. That makes them approachable while still giving the player opportunities to think about the environment from a different angle. More importantly, the puzzle mechanics fit the story because Lucienne's personal journey similarly revolves around challenging assumptions and understanding herself from a new perspective. Platforming connects these puzzle sequences and allows players to navigate the fragmented landscapes. Running and jumping are relatively straightforward, so the challenge is less about mastering demanding movement techniques and more about figuring out where to go and how the environment works. Players looking for precision platforming or extremely difficult traversal may find this side of the experience somewhat simple. However, the restrained approach prevents mechanical difficulty from overwhelming the atmosphere and keeps attention on exploration, imagery, and narrative progression. The story provides the emotional foundation for everything surrounding the gameplay. Lucienne is dealing with uncertainty about herself and the way she is perceived by others, turning the adventure into a metaphorical examination of identity, doubt, expectations, and self-acceptance. Her memories become places that can be physically explored, allowing personal struggles to appear as visual and interactive obstacles. It is an effective concept because gameplay and narrative are working toward the same purpose rather than feeling like two unrelated components. Curyeux also benefits from its relatively focused scope. It does not attempt to fill the experience with unnecessary combat, equipment management, crafting, or large open areas. Instead, it concentrates on its central ideas and moves players through a sequence of carefully designed artistic environments. This gives the adventure a deliberate pace, although its linear nature may disappoint anyone hoping for extensive freedom or substantial replay value. Much of the enjoyment comes from seeing each environment for the first time and discovering how its visual concept influences the puzzles. The audio presentation complements the unusual artwork by helping establish the reflective and sometimes surreal mood. Since the game relies strongly on atmosphere, its combination of sound, environmental design, color, and movement becomes particularly important. The result can feel like exploring someone's illustrated thoughts rather than traveling through a traditional physical world. Its French voice presentation also reinforces the identity of the protagonist and the project's distinctive character. Steam Deck compatibility is currently best regarded as unverified rather than officially confirmed as fully compatible. Players may still be able to run the game on Steam Deck, but the absence of a definitive compatibility status means aspects such as performance, controller behavior, text readability, or graphical settings should not be assumed to provide a completely optimized handheld experience. Its hardware demands may also make performance an important consideration when attempting to play it on the Deck. Ultimately, Curyeux works best for players who appreciate small experimental games where artistic direction and emotional storytelling matter more than mechanical complexity. Its platforming is intentionally accessible and its structure is fairly linear, but its imaginative use of paintings, memories, perception, and environmental puzzles gives it considerable character. The strongest achievement is how naturally the visual design supports Lucienne's internal journey, creating an experience where exploring the world also means exploring the protagonist's state of mind. It may be too restrained for players seeking action or deep systems, but as a thoughtful artistic puzzle adventure, it offers an appealing and memorable change of pace. Rating: 8/10
