Cube Color

You roll a cube around three maps to try to color the most ground in one minute. Boring gameplay, repetitive music, and plain graphics hinder replayability. Settings are limited and the AI is bad. The developer also raised the price from $2 to $25, so their 90% off sales cost more than the original full price.

Score: 2.5 / 10 ⭐ Cube Color… yeah. It’s basically staring at a cube that changes color. That’s it. Only 3 achievements exist, so if you’re an achievement hunter, don’t expect much. Honestly, you could just play some random free online .io game with real people and get way more fun. The price is way too high, even 2€ feels off. Maybe 39 cents would be fair. Thumbs down. skip this unless you really like cubes… and really, really like staring.

So... I'm on the fence here, and I say that because this game DEFINITELY isn't worth the $25. I got this game on a pretty good sale, which would be a good sale if that sale was true to it's conditions. This isn't a game worth $25, nor $15, nor $10. Because of it's charming nature, I'd give it $5, but I even doubt that, given the stock assets that the game uses. Cube color is all about coloring in the most tiles. It's a neat game to play with a friend, honestly, comparable to a "Splatoon-Like", jokingly so, but it's lackluster. Funny to see cubes gain the momentum that they do and roll around, no? But, the cubes often miss tiles and don't make contact while being in the space, meaning you'll have to slow down for precision, which can be both a good and a bad thing. There's also a singleplayer mode, in which one player plays against two "AI", randomly rolling cubes that have a combined score, meaning you'll have to chase them down to make sure they don't steal your points. It's similar to multiplayer in all other aspects though. As for menus, not the best, simple base unity UI assets, but it gets the job done in all but one spot, where there's a slightly noticeable typo. I could only say this. If a person made this in their free time, and enjoyed making it, was perhaps toying around with an idea and wanted to share that, this would be a much better game than the cash grab it's set out to be. If you can get this game for ridiculously cheaper than what's posted as its price, I'd nudge you toward giving it a try. Otherwise, though, there's no need to bother. Play Splatoon or Mario Party, or really just something with a colorful land capturing gamemode instead.
