A prequel to CSTW with none of the characters from CSTW, less game, and less effort. It feels like they completely forgot what made the original game good. I don't mind the combat changes that much, but it doesn't even feel like the same world. Replace Cthulhu with a generic character or "bad guy" and this game wouldn't be any different. Definitely not for any fans of CSTW.
This was such an enjoyable bite-sized RPG! I loved the humor and the character designs. Not to mention the fact that it was exactly what I was looking for to kill a small block of time in my day. The gameplay was fun and interesting too with the one-time use skill mechanic, without ever becoming overwhelming (which stuff like that tends to make me fear). Also grateful that all achievements can be gotten on any difficulty. Great for casuals or sweats alike. I'm totally recommending it to my friends. Probably gifting it a few times as well so everyone has the chance to give this a try!
