I liked this demo, but it has several issues. The first one is that you can’t skip the cinematics, and that might end up annoying some impatient players (I’m not one of them lol). The checkpoints are tedious—if you get killed by puzzle traps or even by the collapsing ceiling hitting you, you have to start over, and sometimes that’s pretty frustrating. The last thing that needs fixing is the controls. Having the option to customize them instead of guessing how they work would be a big help.

Very cool concept, but make it so you can skip dialogue and cutscenes, and let the mouse appear on the screen so you can click. Those two missing features make the game feel super uncomfortable. The deaths are also incredibly punishing, it's not fun to hold down Z and C over and over because of a random thing falling on you and killing you, that's not a puzzle its cheap. The animation and story are so good, but the gameplay is like trying to punish me for trying to enjoy the game. Edit: The more I played it the more unbearable it got, genuinely awfully designed control scheme and the fact that you can't skip anything and that every little quick time event takes forever and can't be canceled, makes the fact that you need to restart every single time unbelievably frustrating. Its difficult to even want to play this game, despite it having a cool story and concept. Just straight up frustrating
You can't skip dialogues or cutscenes, which makes the game incredibly boring and tedious. I only played for 10 minutes and dropped it simply because the game wouldn't let me play; it stuck me in a long cutscene full of dialogue with no option to skip that part and go straight to the gameplay... boring as hell.
Broken achievements, junk controls and worst of all, cannot skip dialogue and cutscenes. Not recommended. The artstyle and the horror elements is there, unfortunately, the things i listed above is already turning what is supposed to be a good and promising short horror game into an hour of frustration due to that.
SOLUTIONS (SPOILER)
If you are looking for the solutions, pick up the key in the control room for the unlocking of the bathroom outside and grab the pliers in there so you can cut the chains. The combinations for the power to be turned on is 3 - 5 - 7 - 1 or 7 - 6, and please dont do the 67 jokes, ITS NOT FUNNY GOSH DARN IT. Be aware that once you flicked on the switch, the pipe will fall on you that are close to the door above the ceiling. Just time it right, slowly go to the left and then run to the right as fast as you can when you hear the sound go off when you are close enough. Remember to also pick up the pipe, thats so you can hit the car boot to grab the gasoline for the bike. You cannot kill the fatherless jerk outside, you can only stun it, make sure to run far and shoot it twice and then use the pipe in your inventory and hit the car boot with it. You can hit the car about 4 times until you need to stagger the ugly again with 2 shots, no need to be close to the guy who cosplay as a discounted version of the last of us zombie, just shoot it from a distant or risk getting grabbed which will restart you. When you grabbed the gasoline, make sure you stagger him far enough because once you try and refill the darn vroom vroom superbike, you CANNOT cancel this action which is stupid. Congrats, you beaten the game. Oh whats that? You dont know how to shoot? Its using ctrl button to aim and spacebar to shoot. Wonderful keyboard mapping is it not? Also make sure to check the chest, not only is there a screwdriver in it, hidden behind the newspaper is another extra ammo.
obtuse and confusing controls explained in troglodyte English. at least it was free. game ends abruptly with the least satisfying ending ever.
Good pixel art. But that item search by squares and lack of proper checkpoints are annoying as hell. How are you supposed to know the plank is going to crack your head? You have to complete this chapter, like, three or four times if you're going blind and do everything without mistake. I hope whenever the game is released they will fix all of that.
The buildup is there. The spritework is there, even if some of the protag's sprites could use some improving. But it all suddenly falls apart when you try opening the gate because what suspense is built up gets replaced with frustration. Here's how it went for me -Screw up the electricity puzzle and die. Would be entirely my fault if one of the clues for the puzzle didn't suddenly become uninteractable, forcing me to wing it. Also the last checkpoint was when the car crashed. -Solve the electricity puzzle, get a clear warning that I'm about to have my first zombie, open the gate. Head toward the door and I get killed by a rusty iron that falls from the ceiling with no warning. Back to the crash. -Dodge the iron, collect it for something and head outside. Encounter the zombie and realize the game hasn't told me how to shoot and the zombie instakills me. Back to the crash. -Figure out it's ctrl to aim and space to shoot. Open the gate and try that aga- forgot about the falling iron and died. BACK TO THE CRASH! That goes on for a while until I figure out you're supposed to lure the zombie to the gate, fire at it twice to stun it, run back to your car and start hitting it with the iron to get the can of gas inside. Stop halfway through to stun the zombie again before it gets you, lure it back to the gate to stun it again, finally get the gascan and for the love of god don't shoot the zombie when you're next to the car now or it blows up and sends you back to the start. Stun the zombie, run to the bike to fill it, stop halfway through to lure the zombie to the gate again, finish the job and escape. This is the kind of ♥♥♥♥ you'd be doing in a pacifist run, not to get past your first zombie in the game. After you do get past that mess there's not much of the game left.
Enter a building, follow a blood trail, get attacked and presumably die, leaving you to wonder if that's really how it's gonna end for the protag. Watch a cutscene and you're done.
Again, the spritework and the buildup was there. The button layout is a bit weird but manageable. The way how chests work is something I'm not a fan of. How it works is that the contents of a chest is a texture with a grid laid on top of it and you're supposed to mark the ones with the item you want to take but there's no clear distinction what you can and cannot interact with. Wouldn't be surprised if in the future people will just mark the whole grid instead of anything specific. I don't want to be harsh on what's obviously a demo for an unfinished game and I'm hoping these issues get sorted out but good lird the actual gameplay portion was not a good time. Oh and the 2 achievements are also broken and never unlock. cool
Really bad game mechanics, and with no explanation. The music and pixelart are good tho.
Buen juego, Me gusto mucho.
