Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 15.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Cruelty Squad is to Deus Ex as acid reflux is to filet mignon. Recommended for purchase on sale (the lowest recorded price is $1.99 at -90%). Made with Godot. Playable on Linux via Proton.
They were all out of Gorbino's Quest so I bought this game instead. Now I am merely a flesh automaton animated by neurotransmitters. Recommend.

Edit : 8 July 2026. I just lost who i loved most, God read the first part and decided to ♥♥♥♥ my life again, i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate you. All 12.6 hours of this game felt like i was preparing for loss than playing. REVIEWED AFTER EXPLORING ALMOST EVERYTHING IT OFFERS. I feel guilty for cracking this game and i used to be depressed, so i bought it after completion years later. Cruelty Squad is just great in everything, a boomer shooter, a tactical game or a capitalist one. I bought it to support the dev now that i can buy some games by miself. Now after completing it, i have to say i now understand the message of the game. For context i finished this when i was 13 or so and was in a bad spot and just said haha weird meme game, but now? ♥♥♥♥....It hits. Cruelty Squad, atleast in my eyes: Is a suicide game. Why? 100% of the talk is corporations and injustice, taking pills in this game ruins your mission (Because people with depression would refuse them, this is the equivalent of ruining your life.), being accused of something you did not do is normalized in this game and generally enough the MC himself looks and acts mentally insane. I also believe the implants are a part of this message, because they are absurd like Cyberpunk levels. Implants in this game are all good but are meant to make you no longer human, and with each one you equip you are supposed to reflect on your decisions...Because the "human" implants are bad, but that makes you human, but if you choose the good ones, you no longer are human. I also like the endings and the world building, you have to kill the people who are doing good and some enemies are straight out called slaves or dehunanizing names and the creatures such as thoose flower things make me believe the MC is taking drugs from start to finish, because Cruelty Squad does not feel real, or is supposed to be. Theese drugs are the vision of the MC through the entire game, but who knows if the creatures arent just random people we are murdering. I also believe the Golems to be people who are stuck inside their own bodies, reinforced with the metal outside them who traps them inside due to sin. Theres also more difficulties and the game gets more deranged each time you find out its secrets, i did everything it offered until the last difficulty which is impossible and im so glad i didnt stop at Archon Grid (First ending). The message of this game is as well passed around as Receiver 2, i highly reccomend both and Cruelty Squad is actually better in both gameplay and story. Great game, i wish Psycho Patrol was cheaper so i could play that one too but i cant have the guts to pirate it.
Despite being years since I first played it, I still think of Cruelty Squad often. I would say this repulsive, offputting game offers the best marriage between narrative and design of any I have ever played, and that is an extremely hotly-contested title. Everything about this game is so deliberately and perfectly calibrated to be as unenjoyable as possible that, in recommending it, I know there's a fair chance the person reading this will just bounce off it - but if you persevere, Cruelty Squad shares its fascinating, and gnostic worldview - that capitalism is a divine evil, analogising commerce as the bloodflow of the universe slowly being choked out by an all-too-deliberate and human corruption - in a more immersive and, inversely, intuitive manner than any other game I can name. A gaping-jawed monster of a fast-paced ImSim FPS that will leave you with food for serious thought, even if not meant to be interpreted literally, for years afterwards. I cannot recommend a game more heartily.
I don't get it and the controls feel like ass. Fails at having any real immersive sim depth so far, and the shooting isn't exaxtly carrying it either. Deeply annoying game shilled by very obnoxious people.

My personal favourite Indie FPS! It is weird, it is unintuitive, it doesn't explain itself, the controls are made to be bad. That's why I have played it more than 9 Times, have all Achievements, got S Rank in every level on every difficulty and I will do it again. (Still want to do a no-death-run) You will get used to the art style, controls and mechanics. My only critique is that the Fishing is meh. It isn't necessary to get any ending but its unforgiving in its timing and boring. You are better of guessing when you will catch a rare fish then reacting to the 57ms Window of Opportunity. Please give it a shot!
"THE SUN SMILES AT YOU WITH ETERNAL MALICE."
Cruelty Squad is a game that I put off pretty much since it released, I followed a lot of the initial buzz but decided it simply wasn't for me after watching some of the gameplay, I am glad to say I was a complete moron. I'd like to call it immaturity that put me off even trying the game, in June 2021 I was 17 and frankly artistically inept, any sort of friction put me off in the slightest and I stuck to games I knew and was comfortable with instead of letting myself experience something new and bold like this is. This game is a playable art gallery, it is lathered in snark and vitriol towards capitalism as a whole, the global military industrial complex and the games industry, but while it throws critique at the wilting field of "gaming" it is simultaneously a gorgeously grotesque love letter to the imsim genre, classic PlayStation/DOS aesthetics, Goldeneye 007 and most importantly to me, FromSoftware's 1997 classic Armored Core. Cruelty Squad and Armored Core go hand-in-hand, they both have finances as a core part of the gameplay and narrative, the Human Plus difficulty from Armored Core is the exact same as the Power In Misery difficulty in Cruelty Squad where you're offered financial freedom in the event of a death and have the difficulty drastically toned down, you modify individual parts of your character to best suit your needs for the mission at hand, every level has a ranking system mostly based on speed, etc, etc. It is not a comparison I thought I would find within a game like this and it made me so giddy realising it for the first time because I adore Armored Core and the way mechanics like Human Plus are taken and given more depth and layering here is so smart. I really love this game, I've already spent countless hours going for speedruns to get S ranks and I'm excited to delve into some of the nooks and crannies to see what secrets I can find while I go for all the achievements. Such a fantastic work of art, please don't let the artstyle put you off, the gameplay sells itself so quickly that even if you're not a fan of the artistic brilliance on display you'll grow to love it in one way or another.
очень классная, графика хоть и заставляет вырвать глаза, но слепым играть тоже было очень интересно, различные враги, секретки, оружия, импланты, всё доставило удовольствие. Прошёл на 100 % и не пожалел
