Don’t let the Soviet Union collapse, and fall in the darkness of history or lead the Union by a new path – democracy and free market! But before you decide something, think – wouldn’t it cause more harm than good?

Man this game is pretty good. It has a turn based style where most the gameplay is setting the budget and dealing with various scenarios but it does give that "one more turn" feeling that my dopamine addicted brain loves. Definitely the main draw of the game. That being said it is incredibly challenging. This game forces you to jump into the deep end and make decisions you don't really know the outcome of. This game has a lot of fun tying you up, putting you in a bag and throwing you into the deep end of the pool while yelling at you to swim. Sooo no not a lot of handholding. The tutorial was short and basically nonexistent for most of the game's different budget/policy screens where most the gameplay is located. Most of the decisions are based on real world events which is cool. If you get a lot out of researching history you'll have lots of fun playing this with a wikipedia article open while you play. Does that lower the difficulty? Eh, not so much but it gives you more context behind your decisions and allows for an incredibly immersive experience. I have now started referring to my friends and family as "comrade" which is a problem I know. Your choices drive the style of what game you want to play. Lots of different styles and scenarios to pick from. You can start as different leaders at different times in the ussr history. You can utilize many different styles of government and strategy. This game feels like a roguelike in the replayability sense and if you enjoy it, Crisis in the Kremlin gives you plenty of hours of fresh gameplay. I would personally rate this game 7 out of 10 because of it's deep, unique gameplay that can unfortunately feel overwhelming and unfair very often. But being as immersive experience as it is, that feels like more of a design pro than a gameplay con.

A very decent game. Despite being fairly railroaded and unrealistic at times it still is interesting and fun to play. You can manage the policies and finance with adequate depth and roleplay as different political parties with their own challendges and caveats. Game usually reacts to your actions dynamically and different playstyles suffer from different problems. On small problem is a presence of a defenitive meta strat which allows for an easy playthought even on the hardest of difficulties. The game lacks a clear tutorial and many mechanics are counter intuitive. But despite all that the game remains very solid and stands favorably as one of the few games of the genre. I would rate it as 7/10 with 8/10 potential. *P.S Note to those who does not speak Russian. The English translation is sometimes lacking, despite being improved upon.
