Cranks and Goggles

Great artstyle, good gameplay. Much better with a controller.

Not a bad premise, just executed poorly. AI pathing is pretty much broken on most tracks where they clamber up the scenery and get stuck. Sound effects keep breaking and the only way to fix that is by restarting the game which is bothersome. All in all, it's not a bad game, and a decent little time killer. But a bit more spit 'n' polish wouldn't go amiss!

I'll start with the issues/suggestion feature to add that I encounter/had in mind: •)"[b]Enemy AI Cut Through[/b]" bug. No matter the tracks, enemies always trying to cut through a turn. The deal was they tried to cut through an invinsble wall, like rocks and gates, often making them stuck in that specific place no matter if they tried to reverse. •)"[b]Brake[/b]". Maybe it was just me, but the brake sometimes suffer an input lag causing a delay prompt. Another time, the brake felt like Clutch you used on rally. Instead making you slow, it gave you Clucth Override boost style. •)I don't know if this is possible, but I do hope this game could received a "[b]Camera Angle[/b]" option. 2 in mind are "[u]Rotate Along[/u]" and/or "[u]Follow Up[/u]". If there was a Star Rating, I give 8.5 out of 10.0 If you love small and good short racing game, Cranks and Goggles is one of them. The challenge was more onto how well you keep your car in control because this didn't have any TCS or ABS to help you. Graphic and atmosphere was well-made. Music was awesome. Plus, the game is cheap.

[h1]I'm a sucker for a different take on old/popular trends[/h1] As a million (or so it seems) of racing games flood steam Cranks and Googles is a new take on an old genre. Not only does this take inspiration from the 1900-1920's racing it is done in a minimalistic and charming way. Everything drips with 20th century inspiration from the race selection screen to the music and done so in a charming and not-annoying way. Compite y gana premios en metálico para mejorar tu vehículo, comprar mejores modelos y competir por Europa contra otras superestrellas del automovilismo mundial. Se hecha en falta una mecánica de daños como rotura de neumáticos, humo negro saliendo del motor, incendios, explosiones tras muchos golpes y forzar el motor, etc. Sin embargo, cuando tienes un trágico accidente como por ejemplo, un vuelco o caída por un barranco, el coche vuelve al centro de la pista intacto para que puedas continuar. Controlar esta opción podría ampliar la dificultad de juego para darle un toque más "realista" si te apetece. Aún así, la dificultad de conducción es grande y a veces desesperante para los jugadores carentes de paciencia. Puedes competir en diferentes pistas para conocerlas y hacer tiempos rápidos, competir en modo carrera contra otros pilotos y participar en campeonatos importantes. Tiene de multijugador. RECOMENDADO!

Enjoyable above-average top-down racing game - 6.5/10 The game has a great artstyle and is really well made for such a small indie title. The game is set in the 20s so the cars are very difficult to handle without flying in the walls or out of the track, that's what makes this game unique. Due to the unique difficult handling, I unfortunately never really got connected to the car, maybe that would change over time, but the game does not have enough content to justify a longer playtime. I wish there would be more variety with the tracks and championships. Some things I did not enjoy: Heavily lagging on the port-track and the music and engine sounds cutting out completely during a race, only getting fixed by restarting the game. Furthermore the biggest minus - you don't see enough of the track before driving over it, resulting in a lot of crashes even when you already know the map. This could have been implemented way better. After all an enjoyable racing game for fans of the genre. 100%-Achievement-Difficulty: Easy, takes around 5 hours to complete, the time trials might be hard for some people, did not like the grinding required to buy all cars.
