I generally like digging games as it's fun to explore what's hidden underground, so I genuinely tried to enjoy this game, but there were just too many issues that made that difficult. A lot of these issues were reported throughout the Early Access period from what I can see, but the game full released without them being fixed. The smallest issue I had was the vague explanations on how to unlock things. One object said I needed more "magical power" for example. What magical power? What quantity of it? How do I know how much I already have? There were no UI indicators that I could find that showed any of that information. Still, I don't mind games that have you explore around to figure out how to unlock things, but I think there still needs to be some sort of indicator either UI-based or tooltip-based at spawn that tells you how much you have/how much you need. Another small-ish issue is the settings menu is a bit too unique. I see what they were going for and appreciate the creativity, but from a user experience standpoint it's generally better to stick with a list of settings so players can find what they need to adjust more quickly. The larger issues I had deals with character movement and collisions. I don't say this lightly but the colliders in this game are bad. Every building, pillar, or environmental object has colliders that feel like they stick out about a foot away from the actual object, rather than ones that hug the objects more closely. This made moving around the small spawn structure a pain because you couldn't get closer to the objects lying around to get a better look at them, and walking along the wooden floorboards caused stuttery movement as if you were getting caught on something. Buildings you'd find half-buried took some effort to stand on them because of how far the colliders stuck out. Even the dirt/sand had pretty poor collision, as I discovered when trying to walk through a tunnel that had more than enough room for me, but I kept getting caught on colliders even in straight sections that weren't any smaller. And when you got partially stuck on a collider, the screen would shake rather dizzyingly, so if you get headaches from that sort of movement, keep that in mind. The ocean had invisible wall colliders halfway up the beach, so you couldn't go swimming to dig up the chest(s) you'd see on smaller islands that you could practically wade through the water to get through. Another issue with the ocean is it let you see through the ground. In several spots I could look straight through and see
a square cube of dirt/sand that indicated some sort of room or building was underground,
which can put a damper on the experience of discovering things. Because of the movement/colliders issues, I can't really recommend this game until they're fixed.

Well done FlashPoint Games. Positives so far. Can dig for 30 minutes, have fun, and come back later. Immersive world, liked the feel. Shovel play feels good. Cute narwhals are a plus. Haven't gotten animal companion but looking forward to it. Negatives. Had some stick-spots that I couldn't easily escape from (gotta dig down to dig up) I wanted to combine gems but felt like I was moving a soccer ball with a drinking straw (needs a grab mechanic.) Overall happy with the purchase and look forward to coming back and seeing the progress.
Fun game so far. Instead of just making A Game About Digging A Hole with some slight variations, Cozy has a large area to explore, a mystery to suss out, and has a Doggo and Detector to help you along. It's perfect for a chill time without being boring. I totally dig it. ;)
This is game absolutely horrible. Everything is glitchy and just god awful do not waste your money.
I found this game because I was looking for a new "dig a hole" game to play while I listen to an ebook. I played it for a long time and found it very satisfying in general. The digging mechanics worked well, there was a large area to explore, and while it takes a while to load the first time you open the map to play, I didn't experience any lag after that or any crashes at all. That said, I did run into a lot of glitches and some design choices I didn't like. (I played Dec 2025, later versions might have more things fixed.) The hose (late game item) did not work for me at all. Some collectables spawned in places they could not be reached. It is super easy to clip/dig into the bottom of objects to get inside them. And there were some issues with the detector pointing at collectibles (chests in my case) that were already picked up. I did not like the way the detector worked; I found it had too many confusing indicators and pointed at too many different things at once. I also did not enjoy the dog's whines and barks, even though he is a cute and Good Boy. In spite of all of those things, I actually still really enjoyed the game and think it was well worth the ~$12 I paid for it. If the developers fix some major glitches or tweak how the detector works I think it would be even more worth it. Currently I'd give it a 6/10, with some fixes it would easily be a 9/10 for me. And for anyone as dense as me, here is what I eventually figured out about the detector: If it glows and dings, it is pointed directly at something, although it might be pretty far away. The needle moves from red to green to show how close you are. It seems to point at chests, tablets, golden shovels, swirl rocks (?), little brown rocks with pictures (?), and further down, goblets and spiky purple rocks (although these two definitely seem like a mistake). I have no idea what dots indicate, or the second needle you might unlock later on.
Fun enjoyable digging game. Fun to just turn off your brain and dig some holes. There are some problems with being able to see through the floor at some points in the game. I did also fall through the floor on my first play through and had to restart as there is no way to reset back to the start. Complete the main story in around 2.5 hours but there are a lot more things to do such as upgrades, collectables, etc,. For the price that it is at I would say its worth it and you could probably get around like 10 to 15 hours if you wanted to 100% the game.
Edited after many more hours of playtime. Don't waste your money. It's impossible to get 100% due to bugs and the devs are not responsive at all if you reach out to them for assistance. The remaining golden shovels are hiding behind light blue ice walls that are unbreakable even with the shovel fully upgraded, making them unobtainable. I wouldn't have paid more than a few bucks for this had I known it was impossible to 100%. I've wasted many hours looking for ways through or around walls that simply do not exist. Like others I have tried asking the devs for help and was ignored. There are better cozy digging games out there where the devs don't ignore the players. At the time of writing this, the game is no longer in early access.
I played the demo a lot, and I've only just gotten started on my actual play through of the full game. I spent a lot of time in the demo having fun, and this game is great for that! You'll always want to do just a little more work before logging off... A lot of wonderful discovery are in store, and there's a leaderboard for who can dig the deepest. The dog is peak as well. Definitely an awesome cozy game that is worth your time. Cool dev too and their sibling made art for the game which is great.
[Early Access Review] Although definitely full of Early Access jank, the game is still very enjoyable. It's fun to dig around looking for shiny things, and you get a dog to keep you company. I think the name is a bit silly, but it does feel like a very cozy, simple little game to keep you occupied. I look forward to seeing how it develops, and some of the bugs ironed out over time.
