I keep coming back to this game because its balanced flight feels responsive and good with dynamic music which takes flight as you do. One of my favourite things to do is to fly as high as I can get. (^-^) It makes you feel very much as a magpie in the sense that you couldn't care less what the humans are up to, only what you could get from them, and as the developers themselves points out: that is kind of the idea. To put human actions in a perspective that paints them as short-sighted and meaningless in the bigger picture of things. It's like someone asked what Majora's Mask would feel like playing if you were simply a bird observing the events as they unfolded instead of Link who actively tries to change their fate. With the addition that as said bird you would be immune to any of the negative outcomes. It sounds intriguing, but the two parts, the story and the mechanics, suffers equally from it as well. And that said, I would have loved to see a spiritual sequel to this game with the same kind of flight mechanic and dynamic music, but instead of simple models trying to convey a complex story mirroring real world issues, the focus could be on a more complex and living environment with many interesting/beautiful/sweet/strange things to observe. Then there wouldn't be a need to pour a lot of resources into building one coherent story for the player to puzzle together, but just a lot of small independent events to come across as you explore the world. One game that already does something similar very well is Feather by Samuraipunk.

A good little game for chilling out, easy to play but a bit repetitive.
I’m usually a pretty big fan of these sit back and relax while the story happens around you sort of games but this one wasn’t quite it for me. I get what the devs were going for and did enjoy the vastness of the city as you get to fly around as a bird but it still felt pretty hollow. I get that this was from a pretty small dev team so I can’t knock it that hard but I just didn’t click with it. The story covered the paranoia of a totalitarian ruler of this city and her inevitable downfall. All told from the perspective of the playable bird listening to the citizens plot and follow through on a mission to take down the leader. It is interesting to be placed into a story with agency but you as the play have no control over it beyond moving the narrative along by finding objects to build out your nest with. It was interesting listening to the towns people but not something I really messed with. Maybe if I played this on my gaming rig and not the steam deck it may have been more enjoyable. But at the end of the day it just wasn’t for me. Always fun experiencing a new game that I haven’t heard of and even better clearing out my Steam account’s backlog.
PD. Es casi obligatorio jugar con mando
Ever wanted to be a bird soaring through the sky? Wandering the world enjoying the scenery and occasionally listening in to peoples conversations? Then Copoka is very much for you. Copoka is a story game at its core, which is told as you interact with the world as a bird. You do not really do anything aside from collecting items and listening to snippets of conversation, but for a short game it definitely keeps you engaged for a few hours.
Short and very relaxing, Copoka isn't a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon. I found the world charming and achievements fun to obtain, taking me out of the way to look for secrets I wouldn't have found otherwise. It can be a little janky, and I wasn't a huge fan of the "no detail" art style, but it's worth the price of admission at $5.
Poetic freedom, that's how this game can be described. Copoka makes you live an experience : - Being free when others are chained up, - Being joyful when others are desperate, - Being healthy when others are dying. It's interesting to observe the evolution of this country and its people. But having the possibility to fly away of this oppression is an intense relief. If you read this, I wish you the same feeling that mine when I discovered this game.
