A decent experience, similar to the [i]Duck Detective[/i] and [i]Golden Idol[/i] games. The cloze puzzles are arguably more on the casual side, but I don't subscribe to the notion that every game needs to be super-difficult to be worthwhile. The game has a nice art style and story, decent mechanics, and okay puzzles. I'd take this game over, say, [i]Feline Forensics[/i] any day. Rating: ★★★★☆

personally I enjoyed this game a lot, my main gripe with it would be the fact that you had to put in the name of characters you already knew but it honestly wasn't that much of a drawback but if you are looking for a simple deduction game with an overarching story I would reccomend this one.

Yes (with reservations)[/h2] Confidential Killings is a solid noir detective game set in late 70s Hollywood, with a strong atmosphere and a distinctive graphic novel–inspired art style. The visuals and soundtrack do a great job of immersing you in a dark world of corruption, secrets, and murder. Gameplay is clearly inspired by The Case of the Golden Idol: you explore static scenes, interact with characters and objects, and collect keywords to reconstruct what happened. It’s intuitive and easy to pick up, but also less complex than its inspirations. The cases are all clearly connected, with recurring characters appearing throughout, which helps build a consistent narrative thread across the game. That said, the experience is quite short (around 3 hours), and the level of challenge is fairly low. The game often provides too much guidance when collecting clues, reducing the sense of deduction. Some mechanics also become repetitive over time, and the characters, while interesting, could have been developed further. The biggest downside is the price: considering the length and overall complexity, it feels a bit high. I personally played it on sale, and I would recommend doing the same. Overall: 6.5/10 A stylish and enjoyable detective game, best suited for players looking for a more accessible and narrative-driven experience rather than a deep deduction challenge.
