Worth the value whenever on sale. Graphics are lame, but one can replace the hideous pictures by moving new art into the folder and editing the characters. Editing tool allows for change when it gets too much or one wants to rush an op character. Mods around to add new characters, or one can take the time to add them manually. Power have generic names, but they are named after what they do and it is up to the user to rename them if they want to a move that does what is described, for example, Heat Impact Melee being akin to moves like Ryu's Shoryuken or Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch. This game is a make your own adventure with starter generic characters and moves to edit. Lots of room for customization. Lots of clicking though.
no graphics besides some images to help your mind's eye fill in the blanks. I think its amazing though. If you feel the game is missing anything you can write it in yourself. People have made Marvel and DC versions. and you can combine the universes together if you want to. About to start writing my own database and throw it in the mix.

Not sure why there is mixed reviews for this game, I've had for years and played it on and off. I've modified the Database and did a whole series as "Arrow" mimicking theCW Green Arrow show. It was a blast. I keep coming back to this game when I need a good comic book RPG solo experience.
What a fun little game brought to you by the folks who made the various TEW Wrestling simulations. This time, you make up your own Hero/Heroine and try to publish exciting adventures. Teaming up with other Capes, fighting low-lives (and this time you actually have to use tactics) and make your comics sell more than ever. Special issues included. There is a huge and inclusive editor included, just like with TEW so you can make up your own Heros and Villains, as well as Plots, Cities, even Universes. A lot of mods available do all the work for you, so you can import all your favorite DC, Marvel, Image, etc. characters. While TEW makes use of stats to see if your performers can dazzle the crowd, here the stats are actually more important, since you actually DO fight your Villains for real, gaining experience while doing so. This you can use to buy new powers or enhance existing ones. Basically every action is an issue, or part of an issue of the comic book you are trying to publish, keeping the action fresh, while also juggling personal life (including friendships and romances). The menus and interface could use some streamlining and modernization, but if you are a fan of simulation games, like Eastside Hockey, Total Extreme Wrestling, and Superheroes, this will be right up your alley.
Horribly overcomplicated, poorly explained and no fun to play.
I think this game has a ton of potential - but as it is in its current state, I wouldn't recommend it. Its most powerful feature is easily its user-created content, but it has no steam workshop support. In addition, the forums where you would normally find that content are incredibly inactive and the vast majority of links are dead. Figuring out how the game works is also unintuitive. It's not as bad as, say, Dwarf Fortress, but I picked it up with relative ease due to how much I play games like that where most of the challenge comes from figuring out the user interface. Oh, and there's an update patch out on the dev's website that hasn't gone up on Steam in, like, 2 years, and you can't install it because of Steam DRM. So basically I like it but wouldn't recommend it.
I enjoyed it back in the 2000s, and still enjoyed it. A Text based RPG of being any Superhero I want. I like to edit things in a Simple Way without too much Image Editing, so I picked this.
I wanted to like this game. It has the potential to be a lot of fun. The lack of any kind of real tutorial or explanation is a massive problem for a game that lives and dies on as many stats, skills, and sliders as this one does. The UI is semi-intuitive, if you're able to guess how the devs think about things.
I expected more from this game, it was very confusion.
