I want to say that I'm sorry to the people who are having troubles in single player that aren't getting to enjoy this game. I'm not one to shy away from a bad or critical review of a game, but this isn't one that I think fully deserves a bad review. I was nervous with how the demo ran for me, but I was really impressed with the gameplay yesterday and can't wait to get home to play this game more. Is the game perfect? No, but for me, it's mostly just the clunky movement and the game makes me a little nauseas from the movement, but I think that's something to fix on my end. I think the game runs smooth, feels great and actually had me clenching up a bit wondering if a raptor is about to pop out on me. The sharks had me so nervous to be in the water too long. It's honestly really awesome. They definitely need to fix some things, but I think it's worth getting to see if it does run for you and it's going to be worth the wait for when it is in a working order for your specs. I'm on a 4070 and getting a consistent 100+ on epic everything. So, really considering giving this team some support. It's their first release and they seem to be listening. Why attack a small team that's actually trying without comparing it to these AAA companies giving us nonsense? I really think this team deserves a chance and I plan to gift this game to multiple friends.
I found out about this game a few days before launch, and was extremely excited about it! Having said that I had my worries. It almost felt from the trailers that the Devs were far too focused on aquatic enemies and dinos as opposed to anything else, with a plesiosaur, a mosasaur, a megalodon, sarcos, and maybe a 5th? featured in the trailer far more than anything else. But I bought it as soon as it released, and found myself extremely disappointed. the game opens on a megalodon, and then immediately the first living creature you see in the entire game is a tank of sharks that just swim on the other side of a wall. This would all be fine if the water controls werent absolutely terrible. many others have talked about the jankiness of the games controls and mechanics. but throughout my time I ran into about 4 raptors, none of which made any sounds, reacted to my gunfire, and when they hit me my character did not react to their hits. it feels unpolished. This feeling is made worse by the fact that 90 percent of what you see is completely pointless. in a game with loot and a crafting system, you go through plenty of rooms areas and buildings with absolutely nothing to interact with. no loot, no collectibles, no enemies, just an empty space to walk through using bad controls. Im thoroughly disappointed by my experience considering this was meant to be a finished game. if they overhaul all of the mechanics and controls i might give it another shot, but honestly I have my doubts. The devs clearly do not have much interest in making this a complete DINOSAUR experience. its more of an aquarium horror game than anything, and also, where is the Park exploration mode that was promised? it was the thing I was looking forward to most
J'ai beaucoup aimé le jeu MAIS... !
Clawed cheeks needs another 2 years of work before ready...multiplayer completely broken
This game has the potential, i needs more soul, the dinos feel rather one dimensional and lack any sort of character, they're predictable and give off very little sense of danger or threat, going into areas with dinosaurs should fill me with dread and caution but right now i feel like Gary Oldman in the opening scenes of Leon. The raptors need to be as menacing and devious and clever as they are in the first jurassic park movie, using their calls and noises to create fear. They should be banging on doors, bursting through windows, coordinating with each other to hunt you and other dinos. The way you get injured feels inconsiquential, massive crocodile has a nibble and you just throw a bandage on, megalodon has a chomp and you're no hindered. Same with the mosasaur. Yhere is to real weight to it. The world is fantastic, very beautifully and lovingly crafted by people who clearly wanted to make something special, with a bit more work, this game could be a very well needed fix in a dry dinosaur survival horror market. Now for the fun i had, my son came downstairs for a drink (he's six) saw dinosaurs and sat down to watch, being my dinosaur expert, asking questions and sharing in the fun of the game, me saying 'yeah you can watch for half an hour' become us soending the night seeing how many shotgun shells it took to kill a mosasaur, how many tranquillisers to bring down a rex, hiw far an anky can whack me like a baseball. Before i knew it, it had been 6 hours and the sun started to rise (oops, dont tell your mother) I do like this game, i believe with the effort the devs have poured into it already is commendable and i believe with the right support and feedback they can turn this game into something worthy of the 'survival horror' tagline. I do reccomend it for single player. And i look forward to what they do with it.
