So far with this game I am 50/50. Right now me and my girlfriend are forced to play a new game because of the fact there literally is no ammo and that she spawns with no ammo. She ended up disconnected briefly and when she got back in she lost all her weapons and ammo. On the upsides I like the theme, the music and the designs of both the park itself and the dinosaurs. However I'm not liking that 90% of buildings you can search are empty and that resources are very scattered. I mean I would understand like a gift shop not holding ammo but then something a medical facility, it just doesn't make sense. I also don't like how you need at a certain distance in order for your shots to actually connect. So far we haven't had any bugs/glitches as of yet. I really do wanna enjoy this game but I think I'm gonna wait until I see more improvements added into the game because so far It feels a bit unfinished as to when it comes to finding resources in the game.
runs great!!! im enjoying it

This game is dogwater.
game is ♥♥♥♥
The good: -Environment is well crafted and immersive. -Playing Jurassic Park is always going to be a cool theme. -Performance is acceptable. THE BAD: -Dinosaur AI is as rudimentary as it can possibly be. Dinosaurs move around aimlessly and then SNAP beeline to you once you come close enough. -Ammunition is extremely limited and yet dinosaurs RESPAWN INFINITELY on an incredibly short timer. -Guns have a limited range and bullets don't exist past a certain distance. -The tranq gun is pointless. It takes too long and too many shots to sleep a dino and thanks to the ultra simple AI you will be mauled before most of them go to sleep because they know where you are lol. -Stealth is terrible and makes no sense. Outside of scripted encounters the experience with encountering dinosaurs is really bad and dumb. Ultimately this was a huge letdown for me.

Edit: After playing for a few more hours, i am starting to get the idea of the game a little bit better. The world is very expansive, but a little repetitive. I can say that the actual dinosaurs are the best part of the game by just getting to see and find them. I would give this game a very very slight recommendation if you are willing to put up with the jankiness and are in it for the dinos. The points below still stand. Also note for the devs, please add binoculars. Please don't take this review as positive or negative yet, I really wish there was a neutral option. Clawed i a game that I would really like to see work in some aspect. This is a genre that is really under represented in gaming and I think we would all love to see a successful dino theme park game, because IMO Jurassic World just really isn't what I want. I played some very old school dino games like Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis or Turok on the xbox and King Kong back in the day. The newer stuff is just very vanilla or seems oriented to a family friendly audience which is okay but mutes the dino horror aspects. For this reason I went into this game willing to accept that it may not be ready as indicated by the current negative reviews. The state of the game is really similar to the demo at least as far as I can tell 2 hours in. To be blunt, that means pretty janky. Firstly, I played this game for about an hour on steam deck and made very little progress due to frame rate and very poor sensitivity options making the movement very slow. If you choose to play this proceed with caution and use mouse and key board to give it the best chance. I don't really like rating on a 1 through 10 scale because it doesnt really give any detail so here is a list of what I like and don't like. Things I like: 1. The environment and map - by far the strongest part of this game. The entire map is hand crafted and a lot of work went into make something truly unique. There is a lot of work put into making it feel as though you are truly in the park and it is pretty believable. However, there are some weak areas. Some areas such as the water park feel very backrooms-ish like something is just missing. Some areas of the park are amazing and some feel a little like something is missing, predominately all the amenities or any sort of evidence that the park handles hundreds of people regularly, there really not a lot of evidence of any people being on the island. Things I don't like: 1. The audio/sound: There are a couple of awesome sequences of riding a boat or monorail through the park which just kind of fall through because the game is very quiet. It doesn't really do justice to the environment. Additionally, the dinosaurs, in particular the raptors are nearly silent. Like they make some kind of quiet weird frog noise, other than that there is really no indication they are nearby. Even in combat they make basically no noise. They cant jump about 50' in the air onto the top of your building and you would have no idea unless you watched it happen. For this reason, situational awareness is very hard to achieve. There really needs to be better sound all around and with regard to dinosaurs there should at least be some sort of indicator that tells you a dino is nearby just so its not so infuriating. 2. Combat: The raptors mentioned above are extremely fast and do a lot of damage. They are most effective when they get the drop on you, gang up or sneak around. They player is at a big disadvantage and I don't mean that in the sense that a human should be equal to a dinosaur. I mean that when the enemies are paired with the games lack of sound and all around jankiness, its just not really fun. I was inside of a building reading some notes and the raptors snuck in. I started taking hits through the walls and took out 2/3 with the door closed because they were clipping through. The last one got me from outside of the entire building his head clipped through the wall and ate me. Combat is probably impossible on something like steam deck. I think combat really needs to be overhauled to give the player a better advantage to compensate for all the glitchiness to make it more fun. 3. Lack of voice dialogue: This game features a silent protagonist. Obviously this is a staple in some franchises, but it is really noticeable here because the environment is beautiful, but lacking any signs of humanity. 4. The map: The map is not zoomable or moveable and the text for any tasks or symbols is hard to read. They really need to add a moveable map and probably the ability to make notes or customs pins on the map since exploration is lock and key based. Overall: This game really should be in early access, it is clearly not finished. I don't want to defend a product that isn't finished, especially these days, but it seems like a small team that really tried their best. If they continue to work on it, then it may get better, but theres a lot of work to be done. A note on the devs: they do appear to be aware of the games state and actively trying to gain feedback and fix the game. They are actively talking to the community and accepting the criticism. This is a good sign compared to other devs that basically go to war with the fanbase that I saw with other releases this month.
Its a new game, so will need some fixs with bugs like getting stuck on little rocks or glitching into bits of the map. But its a fun dino game and ive been waiting for a new exciting dino game sometimes i do get a jump scare.
I've played this game for a few hours on single-player after reading about the horrors of co-op and I can confidently say - once the bugs and some of the movement/item clunkiness is worked out, I will be addicted to this game. It has great bones and just needs some more love. I will say, it seems easier to get through crouch points in 3rd person because the body movement physics made me nauseous lol. There's only a few major things I would fix right off the bat, the rest comes with lots of time and tweaks. - Crouched body and collision physics are clunky and hard to manage (can't count how many times my face went through walls while my body was still around the corner.) - The ambience is good but the sounds don't always sync up properly (i.e. deceased raptors still snoring after being tranquilized then killed, which is VERY loud and only mildly irritating - unlocked gates opening multiple times sound wise before physically opening.) - The aiming physics almost feel like the arms/weapons are very... wiggly and disconnected. I like this game so far and will continue to play it even before all those things are fixed but once the kinks are worked out 10/10!
