About

One of 2022’s most acclaimed indies, the Game Awards-nominated Citizen Sleeper is a Tabletop-inspired narrative RPG set on Erlin’s Eye, a ruined space station that is home to thousands of people trying to survive on the edges of an interstellar capitalist society.
You are a sleeper, a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, owned by a corporation that wants you back. Thrust amongst the unfamiliar and colourful inhabitants of the Eye, you need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the factions of this strange metropolis, if you hope to survive to see the next cycle.

Inspired by Tabletop Roleplaying games, Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world. Each cycle you use the dice you are dealt to choose what to do with your time. Make or break alliances, uncover truths and escape your hunters. Survive and ultimately thrive, one cycle at a time, and sometimes against the clock!

The station plays host to characters from all walks of life, trying to eke out an existence among the stars. Salvagers, engineers, hackers, bartenders, street-food vendors, each has a history which brought them here. You choose which of them you wish to help, and together you will shape your future.

Eventually, you will learn to use your dice to hack into the station’s cloud to access decades of digital data, uncover new areas and unlock secrets. This is your unique power, and with it you can change your future. Corporate secrets, rogue AIs and troves of lost data await those willing to dive into the depths of the station’s networks.

Essen-Arp: to them you are just property, one more asset in a portfolio that stretches across the stars. You are the product of an abusive system, in a universe where humanity’s expansion is marked by exploitation and extraction. Escape the makers of your decaying body, and chart your own path in a richly imagined, deeply relevant sci-fi world which explores ideas of precarity, personhood and freedom.

Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world.

Each cycle you roll your dice. Assign them to vast range of actions available on the station. With every action, choose what, and who, matters to you, shaping the lives of those around you, and ultimately the future of the station.

Clocks track both your actions and the actions of others across the station. From becoming a local at the Overlook Bar to protecting a friend from Yatagan enforcers, clocks allow you to track your own progress and the influence you have on the world around you.

Follow drives not quests, allowing you to pick and choose the stories and activities that matter to you. As you do, you will shape your character's five skills (Engineer, Interface, Endure, Intuit and Engage), unlocking perks and bonuses that reflect and change how you choose to live in this world.

Citizen Sleeper now includes all three post-launch DLC episodes FLUX, REFUGE and PURGE, which expand the game and introduce additional characters and locations to Erlin’s Eye in an exciting new late game storyline.

lot of reading
I loved the world-building of the game. For me, this was the highlight of the game. It felt so fulfilling and alive, and the attention to detail is amazing. The loop mechanics are also fun, a bit repetitive towards the end once you fully understand how to get everything you need and you have your survival secured, but still fun nevertheless. Narratively speaking, it is also really good. Personally, sometimes the writing felt a little bit heavy, as if I were reading a book instead of a visual novel (but again, this is probably personal taste). The whole story and endings were cohesive and endearing, I loved them, specially the DLC part. I do recommend it!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

非常不错的一款文字策略游戏,剧情引人深思,每一个人物都有他们的故事,且文字功底确实扎实。 好玩爱玩~
I will likely not revisit this game due to backlog, but did enjoy it. It's unique and a bit clunky in parts. Good tension from upkeeping statuses and actions-per-turn while carving out a story. I tried to progress every path available and felt I stopped roughly halfway (from what I can tell) through the game. Navigation is a pain point. I found myself clicking through every node frequently to see available actions. In several cases I could not end my turn as I completed an event and needed to jump out-and-back-in a node to complete a cutscene. A welcome QoL update would be if the quest tracker indicated "you can't progress this further yet" or simply zoomed you to the proper location. Panning through the world every turn is not fun. The story and the tension make this a recommend, but I was unable to stay hooked. I look forward to trying the sequel.
A really good visual novel survival RPG! Usually with games set in space, the game is usually about capitalism or corporations. Somehow this game felt like a western with how the game focused more on a lawless land and trying to survive, yes there are still moments about capitalism and corporations especially with the history of the Eye but it isn't the main conflict that the protagonist has to fight so from that alone I was so intrigued. The writing of the game is very well done. I especially love how vividly but concisely moments are described. It's also really well done how it jumps from big exposition words to simple descriptive words, something I think some writers struggle with. The visuals and the music also help elevate the game but without the beautiful writing and the really cool plots happening to the different characters I don't think I would've enjoyed the game as much as I did. The gameplay is simple, you use dice to do actions and the better the dice the more chance of succeeding, but mix that in the survival mechanic of having to maintain your robot body, it kept the game engaging and then when countdown timers were added it really made me feel like I had to choose what I thought was the right choice in the moment in order to achieve what I want to do. Overall, if you like visual novels having a really nice gameplay loop, with really good writing, this game is definitely a must-play!
Citizen sleeper was an enormous risk for me. I'm not a reader. Reading is the hobby I least indulge in. While I love story-based games, they're mostly graphical: point and click adventures, walking simulators and such. Also the games I play the most are game games, like 4x and rts, and when I do, I always skip the fluff. But this game changed all that. That's because its writing, world building and characters are impeccable. I found myself trying to get all the endings, clicking every interaction, trying to discover as much about the Eye, its history and residents as possible. This game turned me, a habitual skimmer and popup skipper, into a careful reader. What about the game part of this game, the dice rolling etc.? I enjoyed it for most of the game. It's not challenging and it's not meant to be. It's meant to provide just the right amount of jeapordy and urgency to get you to move forward, and just the right amount of routine to make you feel like you're part of the world. It did get a bit old near the very end, but otherwise I felt it added to the immersion, which is its whole purpose. This game is very much a visual novel with dice. And boy does it succeed at that. 10/10
Garbage writing. Fake choices that didn't even let you do anything other than the designated route. This would be fine if it was a well-written route, but it's not. The player character didn't get to do anything proactive at all, just waits repetitively for the other characters to report back at yourself what THEY've done. And at least half of them are annoying. Then towards the end of a character's route, you don't even get to choose for the final one important moment, like whether you get to change a person's fate, rescue a character or not. No matter what you do it's the same outcome, very underwhelming and disappointing for a plot driven game.
Unique story mode and action point system. Easy to play in the background, once you have mastered the basics of staying alive. Do wish there was a voice audio option, as there is a lot of text to read
