I’m using a MacBook Pro M1 and there are a lot of bugs. Projects that you spend hours or even days on don’t load properly. Characters disappear, textures fail to load — everything breaks. As a professional, you simply can’t rely on it, especially when paid client work is involved.

EN: The worst waste of money for pre-visualization The main issue is that the project has been abandoned by the developer for a long time. It’s stuck in a raw "indie horror" state but sold at a AAA blockbuster price. Main downsides: Technical failure: The UE5 Lumen implementation is terrible — lighting is noisy, pixelated, and blurry. Lack of tools: It lacks basic professional features (rulers, snapping, a decent object library). Building an identical set is impossible — it’s honestly faster to experiment in real life than to struggle with this software. Price/Quality: For $90 (even considering regional pricing), you get a glitchy build with broken UI buttons. Verdict: Don't let the pretty screenshots fool you. The program is useless for professional work and hasn't seen updates in ages.
How can I add the functionality and inventory of the first version to Cine Tracer 2? Because version 2 is quite barebones and very different from version 1. Or do I only need to buy version 1?
Хреновая прога, управление на костылях, ничего не удобно, ресурсов для построения локация мало. Добавление 3д объектов через костыли и криво. + не сохраняет проекты! Весь день делал раскадровку под концерт, на утро ничего не осталось, как так
When it works, Cine Tracer 2 is a fantastic pre-viz software and one with a LOT of potential. As a low-to-no-budget filmmaker it certainly has a good place in my work flow. It's relatively easy to use and doesn't require hours of training to master. And in my particular area of filmmaking, easy-to-use software is always a plus. In fact, I've spent years trying to find a good pre-viz software for my work and all of them have fallen short... including this one! But this one comes close. First, I wanna touch on the fact that the software hasn't received any significant updates in a loooooooong time and I can't seem to find any news about what's going on. Knowing that it's a one-man show developing it and he has to do it in his spare time, it's easy to show leniency. However, I'm starting to get the feeling that this software has been abandoned. Frankly, I'm still not sure why we even needed a Cine Tracer 2 considering Cine Trace 1 wasn't even finished and, yet, felt surprisingly more complete. There were more options, props, locations to choose from--overall the first build was much better in my opinion. I especially miss the very large City location that was very detailed and worked great for most shots. Cine Tracer 2's locations are drab and seem like they were chosen at random. Building your own set can be nice, though it's a bit clunky and it can take some serious time and getting used to. Character models also feel very limited and I often find myself using the same character model multiple times because I don't have much else to choose from. One of these days I will find the right pre-viz software for my workflow. Something with the ease and convenience of Cine Tracer 2 but stable and with more pre-fab options. I would LOVE to recommend Cine Tracer 2 but unless you're getting it for free I can't justify the price-tag in it's current state. I would love very much to get some updates on this one or, at the very least, to find out if we are EVER going to updates to it. I got Cine Tracer 2 for free by the way, because I purchased the first Cine Tracer. And even then, I still don't recommend the software.
As a film maker, this is a game changer. Never have I been more excited to storyboard/figure out lighting in my life. This is so creative and user friendly. A feature to change size of object (unless i'm missing something) would be a great add. Adding a locking to other objects feature would be cool, also a ruler for size comparison. I used this to completely remake a set I was using for a shoot and getting the measurements close to accurate was difficult. All in all, amazing product and worth the money in my opinion.
I spent 3 hours building a set, and suddently out of nowhere, everything changed place. All the walls, furniture, lights... A complete waste of time. Also, there are super limited props and some features are not at all intuitive. A complete waste of time and money
Great game! It’s a great way to prepare for film shoots.
