Chornobyl Liquidators is not a fantastic tale of exploring the Zone. It's a story about real people facing a real threat — the CNPP disaster. Invisible radiation, KGB, difficult moral choices... Do you have enough courage and strength to take on this challenge?

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Jul 24 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Do not buy this. I was very impressed with the demo, and when the game came on sale, i bought it. the first two levels were impressive but, the next level started with you floating in the air and immediately falling to your death. Reloading, restarting, restarting steam. All tried. nothing resolved it. i subscribed to the discord and posted a bug. i saw a lot of unanswered posts, including one stating the game is lo longer supported. the game had so much potential. Perhaps the developers run out of money, but they should not be taking money for an unplayable game
At its current state, I do not recommend this game. The game certainly has lots of potential, but the amount of game-breaking bugs is overwhelming. Within the first five minutes of gameplay, I encountered two game-breaking softlocks without even trying. I simply played the game normally, using its intended mechanics. **Examples:** In one of the first quests, you are supposed to pick up graphite blocks with a shovel and throw them onto a designated drop-off spot. However, you can also throw them anywhere else, including out of bounds. That's what I did because it wasn't clear where the drop-off spot was. I thought throwing them onto a pile of rubble was the objective. It turned out it wasn't. Since I could no longer reach the blocks, I had to start a new game. **Next example:** After the first few quests, you get what appears to be a loading screen. That screen has a skip function. I used it, but as soon as I skipped the screen, I was unable to move my character or access my inventory, resulting in another softlock and forcing me to start a new game again.

Игра мне понравилась. Да много багов, да история об ликвидации не такая, какую мы знаем. Разработчик показал сюжет нам так, как он это видит. И мне это понравилось. Вечная слава и память ликвидаторам аварии на ЧАЭС!
I remember the playtest years ago being a short blast to play through, little to no bugs at all. Once this game came out, I gave it a try with a few bugs here and there. I put the game down due to life being a pain in the ass. But once I finally try to try and finish this game, its a buggy mess. Took me an hour to finish the firefighter section, having to reload saves half a dozen times to finally finish it. I can't recommend this game in its current state. I really hope the devs get back to this game at some point and fix all these damn bugs.
Chornobyl Liquidators is a first-person historical simulation developed by Live Motion Games and Frozen Way and published by Frozen Way and Frozen District. Unlike many games inspired by the Chernobyl disaster that focus on post-apocalyptic fiction, supernatural threats, or survival horror, this title chooses a far more grounded and serious direction. It places players directly in the aftermath of the 1986 nuclear catastrophe and focuses on the people who risked their lives to contain the disaster. By emphasizing realism, historical context, and human sacrifice, the game offers an experience that feels more like an interactive historical drama than a conventional action game. From the opening moments, the game establishes a somber atmosphere. Players are thrust into the chaos that followed the reactor explosion and are tasked with participating in the cleanup effort as one of the many liquidators involved in the operation. The game presents a variety of missions inspired by real events, allowing players to witness different aspects of the response effort. Rather than portraying heroic soldiers battling enemies, it highlights ordinary workers, firefighters, engineers, and volunteers confronting an invisible and deadly threat. One of the game's most effective qualities is its portrayal of radiation. Unlike traditional survival games where danger is often represented by visible enemies, the threat here cannot be seen directly. Radiation is ever-present, forcing players to constantly monitor exposure levels and make difficult decisions regarding safety and efficiency. This mechanic successfully captures the anxiety faced by those who entered contaminated areas without fully understanding the long-term consequences of their actions. The invisible nature of the danger creates a unique form of tension that remains present throughout the experience. The mission structure introduces players to several different responsibilities performed during the cleanup operation. Some tasks involve extinguishing fires, while others focus on measuring contamination, collecting hazardous materials, clearing radioactive debris, or investigating dangerous locations within and around the power plant. This variety helps maintain engagement while also illustrating the enormous scope of the liquidation effort. Each assignment contributes to a broader understanding of the disaster and the immense challenges faced by those tasked with limiting its impact. Narrative elements play an important role in shaping the experience. Beyond the technical aspects of disaster response, the story explores the social and political environment surrounding the event. Players encounter situations involving government pressure, secrecy, conflicting information, and difficult ethical choices. The game frequently asks players to consider not only their immediate survival but also the consequences of their actions for colleagues, loved ones, and the wider population. These themes add emotional weight and help distinguish the game from more conventional simulation titles. The recreation of historical locations is another notable achievement. Exploring sections of the power plant, nearby settlements, and contaminated zones creates a strong sense of immersion. The developers clearly aimed to capture the atmosphere of the era, and many environments successfully convey both the industrial scale of the facility and the tragedy that unfolded there. Walking through these locations while knowing the historical events associated with them adds considerable impact to the experience. Visually, Chornobyl Liquidators often succeeds in creating believable and atmospheric environments. The damaged facilities, abandoned areas, and industrial structures are presented with a level of detail that reinforces the seriousness of the setting. Lighting and environmental effects contribute to a bleak and oppressive mood that remains consistent throughout the campaign. The visual presentation is particularly effective when depicting contaminated areas where danger feels immediate despite remaining largely invisible. The sound design further strengthens immersion. The constant clicking of radiation detectors, distant industrial noises, emergency alarms, and ambient environmental sounds create a sense of unease that persists throughout the game. Rather than relying heavily on dramatic musical scores, the audio design emphasizes realism and tension. This approach allows the setting itself to generate much of the emotional impact. Perhaps the most admirable aspect of Chornobyl Liquidators is its respect for its subject matter. The game avoids sensationalizing the disaster and instead focuses on the courage and sacrifice of those involved in the cleanup operation. It attempts to educate as well as entertain, encouraging players to consider the human stories behind one of the most significant industrial disasters in modern history. This sense of purpose gives the experience a level of emotional depth that many simulation games lack. However, the game is not without shortcomings. Technical issues occasionally disrupt immersion, including performance inconsistencies, bugs, and rough edges that can make certain sections feel less polished than intended. While the developers' ambition is evident, the execution does not always match the strength of the concept. Some narrative moments also struggle to achieve their full emotional potential due to uneven pacing or presentation. The gameplay itself can sometimes feel repetitive, particularly during tasks that require performing similar actions across multiple missions. Players expecting a fast-paced action experience may also find the deliberate pacing slower than anticipated. The focus on realism and simulation means that much of the game revolves around procedure, observation, and careful resource management rather than excitement or spectacle. Despite these flaws, Chornobyl Liquidators remains a compelling and distinctive experience. Few games attempt to explore historical tragedies with this level of seriousness, and even fewer place such emphasis on the people who worked behind the scenes to prevent an even greater catastrophe. Its combination of historical storytelling, atmospheric environments, survival mechanics, and ethical decision-making creates a memorable journey through a dark chapter of human history. For players interested in historical simulations, educational experiences, and narrative-driven games that prioritize authenticity over action, Chornobyl Liquidators offers a perspective rarely seen in the medium. While technical limitations prevent it from fully realizing its ambitious vision, its respectful treatment of the subject matter and commitment to portraying the reality of the cleanup effort make it an experience worth exploring.
Its just not good. The first mission is great. The rest.... doesnt make sense, is strangely disjointed, and has terrible "acting" and "story". They got me good with the playtest, as that was pretty much the only part of the game that didnt stink.
