**ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE**
Hmm, where should I start with this one... For starters, I'm gonna mention the obvious, and that is that this is a free game that offers so much good content that you would be surprised none of it is locked behind some required DLC. For what the game costs you right now, absolutely nothing, it is more than worth it. Secondly, I'm honestly surprised this game is still being maintained. The devs must really love what they do because they are constantly applying fixes and adding new content. Going back to the topic of money, the game doesn't actually force you to spend anything. There are some microtransactions that can help speed up your progress, but that's completely up to you and whether you want to progress faster or not. The devs are also generous enough to give players rewards for participating in events. I've played this game for a long time, not originally here on Steam but through the mobile app, and I think it's awesome that the game has cross platform support so I can continue playing across different devices. If you're a parent, I would honestly recommend showing this game to your kids. It's simple, addictive, and teaches them cool things about the universe, dinosaurs, animals, evolution, and a bunch of other topics. The events have also added a lot of good content to the game over time. At the end of the day, this is a clicker game, so it's not hard to play. You could argue that the gameplay is repetitive, but what else did you expect? The game stays true to what it is. Complaining that a clicker game is repetitive is like asking a fish to fly. So if the game eventually falls into a repetitive cycle, where does the satisfaction come from? There are several answers to that. First, the game is relaxing. You're not being pushed to rush through everything. You can take your time, read the cards, learn things, and admire the artwork. Second, it is visually and audibly satisfying. It has a great collection of sounds and the artwork is incredible for what kind of game this is. Third, it feels so damn good progressing and finally completing something you have put so much time into. I recently played their Future beta content that is coming up, and it was amazing. I'm currently only one achievement away from "finishing" the game, and I can definitely say it has been an entertaining experience. Yes, it is a slop game, but this slop got me hooked all the way to the end. I should also talk about the progression problem and why some players eventually leave because they feel like everything becomes way too slow. And yeah, they're right. There is a point where climbing becomes extremely difficult and progressing can take days and days of playing. I completely understand their frustration because I felt it too back when I was poor and dumb. Obviously, climbing has to become harder at some point so players don't finish everything too quickly, but you basically just have to deal with it, and plenty of smart players have found their own ways around that problem. When I first realized how easy it was to cheat currency in this game, it actually made me come back and play even more. One of the most popular tricks was changing the year on your phone, going back into the game, and suddenly having ridiculous amounts of stuff waiting for you. It honestly makes me wonder how many long term players have used exploits or cheats at some point, because I eventually came to one realization that completely changed how much I enjoyed the game: slow progression = I'm bored and eventually done with the game. Cheating = I'm staying for the entire ride. When you stop and think about it, it's actually pretty ironic. The normal player slowly gets tired, loses interest, and withers away, while the player who evolves into using cheats gets to experience everything, finish the game, and potentially fall in love with the franchise. Hey devs, I know that might sound backwards to what you want, but you can't blame your audience for being clever. "Life, uh, finds a way." ~ Dr. Ian Malcolm. I genuinely think those players are part of what keeps this game alive, and I hope the devs understand how relevant their presence actually is. Overall, this game has given me way more entertainment than I ever expected from something completely free.
a total waste of time
