Cats vs Zombies III

Having just played the free game Hidden Cats vs Zombies 2, I wondered how its successor Hidden Cats vs Zombies 3 might differ to reflect the fact that this one has a price (currently discounted to UK £0.91). The answer is there is very little difference. Like Zombies 2, this game is very short (5 minutes game play again), and set in a single well-drawn scene. This time 60 (instead of 50) cats have to found, but 10 or so are locked in cages so keys have to be located too. The number of zombies to be shot has reduced from 50 to 40, so one fewer box of ammo has to found. Like its predecessor, 10 bottles of milk also need to be searched for. As before, I thought that the artwork and the sound effects suited the theme of the game but because this one is priced, value for money is a consideration. I would normally expect an hour of game per UK £1 but this doesn't get anywhere near that. In this case I'm happy to have tried the costed game as well as the free one, and both entertained me (if only briefly), but I wouldn't buy any more of this series without substantially more content.

7/10 Very nice level. The music was nice and very fitting. I like that you are able to use the arrow keys to move around the map, instead of just using the mouse to drag it. Made it feel similar to a first person shooter game, which made it easier to play. I've played the dev's other hidden object/cat puzzles, and while it is hand drawn originally, I'm started to get the feeling that the maps are copy and pasted together. Which is fine, but the maps are starting to feel repetitive. Don't be afraid to hide the items better, the keys were a nice touch but some of them were in the middle of the open. I'm hoping to see more in the background to make the hidden cats/zombies/objects harder to find. There is only one map, and this one is relatively small and a quick play. Difficulty more for younger players. I finished this one in 5 minutes, but I did enjoy it. I did like having to locate keys to release the trapped cats, the more interactive parts the better. I purchased this the day it was released and the dev had it on sale, so I think it's worth the price.

Cats vs Zombies III, is a rather short but pleasant and relaxing experience, it's also as simple as the name suggests, find all the cat's and zombies hidden before you. It's honestly another great game to help fill the void or simply allow yourself to just shut off for a while. Overall it's a solid game that delivers exactly what it sets out to achieve and it's 100% worth the time it take's to complete! Solid 7/10
