About

Explore a vast, dynamic open world filled with the echoes of a once thriving civilization. You are constantly striving for survival, elated at every meal, and thrilled with every sunrise. Uncover hidden locations, encounter other survivors with their own stories, and discover the secrets buried beneath the rubble of the old world. Traverse diverse biomes, each with its own unique set of dangers and opportunities.

Choose story mode or survival mode for two completely different experiences. Get engrossed in a thought provoking story or just simply survive as long as possible. How many days can you last?

Scavenge, gather, craft or trade essential tools and weapons to navigate the dangers that lie between you and surviving. From improvised shelters to essential supplies, every crafting choice is a step closer to mastering the art of survival. No inventory sorting. All your stuff is sorted automatically so you don't have to waste your time flipping through pages of UI.

Encounter dangerous wildlife, other survivors, and desperate scavengers as you traverse the hazardous landscape. Gain XP that unlocks character upgrades and search for crucial supplies from every encounter. Everyone is fighting it out for the same resources.

Balance your basic needs – food, water, and shelter – while managing resources for the arduous journey ahead. Make strategic decisions that could mean the difference between life and death. Can't find what you need to survive? Trade anything you find of value with the merchant. That includes things like jewelry, cigarettes, and even toilet paper. Things that were once taken for granted are much more valuable after the storm hits. Also no chopping down trees! That has been done enough in other games and kills the immersion. Honestly who chops down a whole tree with an axe in 3 swings? You can however chop fallen logs.

It's a dangerous lonely world. Your character can suffer from not only physical ailments such as broken bones and the flu virus, but also mental health issues like depression and anxiety, depending on the choices you make.

The storm has scattered families and shattered lives. You're over 100 miles away from your loved ones, and every step toward them is a step into the unknown. Navigate treacherous landscapes, overcome obstacles, and brave the remnants of a world torn apart. When you play on story mode, experience a gripping narrative as you navigate the emotional challenges of survival, not just for yourself but for the family waiting at the end of your journey. Every discovery, every setback, and every triumph is a chapter in your unique story.

The storm aftermath is probably my favorite part of this. Walking through damaged areas and finding little traces of what happened before you arrived gives the world more personality than just having a bunch of random loot everywhere. I also like that you can choose between the story and survival modes depending on what kind of session you want. It still has some rough edges, but there’s a solid survival game underneath it.
wonky but fun, has a good story
I want to start by saying that this game is incredibly atmospheric. It hooked me from the very first second with its atmosphere, dialogues, and of course the music, which fits the game extremely well. I really liked the variety of resources and craftable items, as well as the fact that the game offers several different modes. I started with the Story Mode and I was honestly surprised by how quickly I became invested in the story and the main character. One of my favorite things was the different camera angles during dialogues and sequences. The transitions are so well done and the camera angles are very carefully chosen to fit what is happening on screen. I absolutely love this kind of presentation. The survival mechanics are also pretty well balanced. Your character has hunger and thirst that you need to keep under control. At the beginning, resources are fairly easy to find, but later you have to start thinking about how you spend them and what you keep. I think the balance here is quite good. That said, there are a few things I really struggled with, especially the UI/UX. For example, early in the game, I needed to cut down a fallen tree and had to craft an axe. I accidentally crafted another item instead and didn't have enough resources left for the axe. I spent quite a while looking for more resources but couldn't find any, so I eventually had to restart. The reason this happened was partly because the crafting UI is a little unusual and takes some time to get used to. At first, I didn't really understand why the selected item wasn't clearly highlighted or how exactly I was supposed to craft it. When I crafted the wrong item, I also didn't immediately realize what had happened. I eventually had to watch a YouTube to understand what am I suppose to do. The pause menu is another thing I found inconvenient. You have to press TAB, then go through the journal to reach the options, and even then I wasn't completely sure from the audio feedback whether the game was actually paused. So I definitely think there is still some room for improvement when it comes to the UI/UX and the overall clarity of some interactions. But despite these issues, I was very satisfied with the game overall. It's clear that a lot of effort, care, and passion went into making it. The atmosphere, presentation, story, music, and cinematic camera work really stood out to me. I can definitely say that the game is worth the money. You can see how much work went into it and it feels like a game that was made with genuine care. And a special thank you for thinking about left-handed players and adding alternative IJKL controls. It's a small thing, but I really appreciate it.

The game has some strong points and I really appreciate the effort. The Developer does have a lot of talent and I love the vision. Even though I think it's really cool, It's lacking the polish that a fully released game needs IMO. It didn't really do it for me... but I believe it does have entertainment value for some Gamers out there. My view is that it's a janky Survival Crafting Game with a pretty decent story mode that may, or, may not work for some people. It also has passible voice acting which is rare in this scene. The graphics in some areas are very low quality and lack detail. It's one of those games where you wish there was a middle Vote. I suggest you try it out if you're into this genre and don't mind the camp & jank. I'm giving a thumbs up because I like the Dev and can't wait to see him grow in this industry. I play some of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3Wp2wUdFdU&t=5s
Category 6 pulls you in with a dialogue-driven XP system that makes conversations feel like they matter, well-balanced loot that rewards exploration, and a soundtrack that genuinely elevates every scene. The core survival mechanics, from resource gathering to managing your character's state with items like painkillers, add real texture to the experience. Story mode strikes a nice balance of difficulty that pushes you to actually explore rather than rush through. This is a game with a strong foundation and clear potential as it continues to take shape.
Thisi game sorely needs multiple save points and should not penalize your health for saving and crafting and using things.
Was excited for this after seeing a post long ago on Reddit. Unfortunately, the dev isn't quite there yet. Please remove the opening section with the wife... it's very cringy and uncomfortable in a survival game. Also, after playing for 35 minutes, closing, then opening a few days later, it gets stuck on the load screen. I'm stuck for now. Hope some new updates will make it a bit more polished.
A couple of hours into Category 6 and I am enjoying it so far. The setup is simple: a massive storm has wrecked everything and you spend your time picking through abadonded homesfor whatever you can find. It sounds basicbut the unpredictability of it is addictive, you never know if the next house has something worth grabbing or just junk you will end up carying anyway. The survival systemare easy to pick up, the atmosphere is solid, and having botha story mode and survival modeis a nice touch dependingon what are in the mood for. Also, toilte paper being a prized item might be the most realistice thing in the game. It's not without issues, though. Some of te terrain, especially near the hilliers areas, has clipping problems, a bit of jumping and you can end up in spots that clearly weren't meant to be reached, some of which felt like empty, unfinished space. That also triggered a few visual glitches that stuck around for a while. Even so, the foundation is strong and this has real potential, once the rough edges gets smoothed out. Worth trying if you like slower, exploration heavy survival games, just expect some bumps early on.
Super interesting game i like the fact the game has choices that change the outcome of the game makes it interesting and replay able
