As a huge fan of homicide TV shows, this game had me living my best detective fantasy—minus the brooding trench coat. I played it before the developers’ earlier game (oops), but honestly, this one is so good I don’t even feel bad about skipping ahead. It’s like they took all the best parts of crime dramas—minus the endless staring at evidence boards—and wrapped it up into one ridiculously fun experience. The gameplay makes you feel like a legit detective, right down to the “aha!” moments and occasional overconfidence. Worth every penny.
For me, this game was just a bit slow. I'll probably finish the game just because I promised myself I would finish games I purchased, but it's not as interactive as I was expecting it to be. I would have liked to have more controls over interrogation or the direction of questions. I think I was expecting the acting to be more animated as well.

A fun mystery filled with plot points that keep you engaged with the story and great acting performances all the way. Will definitely recommend this one, just know that the story takes around three hours to complete, a bit more if you decide to check all the alternative scenes by making different decisions throughout the story. Excited for more mysteries to solve with Detective Ruiz!
At first I didnt really think this was a game for me but I decided to give it a try! I actually had a lot of fun playing and the content was very entertaining, usually I get bored really fast but I was invested for the whole time I was playing!
its a good game put maybe in next time you could dev more things to do our going on the crime scene? put overall it was fun hope you do more games like that<3
Just started the game and so far so good! Very unique and definitely gives off some good detective vibes. Looking forward to playing more and hopefully solving the case. Will update if my opinion changes, but from what I've played so far I can definitely recommend if you're looking for a good detective game. Hope to see more games like this from these devs!
A pretty fun FMV investigation game, nothing really tricky but it connects the dots of the case in a satisfying way. I wish a couple more info were given when you actually choose the culprit in the end.
If you've been hoping for a successor or alternative to Contradiction, Case Files: Behind Closed Doors could be just the game for you—though it leans into more serious content compared to Contradiction. The mix of FMV and first-person graphical gameplay was a pleasant surprise, blending naturally and enhancing the experience as I delved into the mystery. I found myself second-guessing my suspicions about each suspect, and the game kept me on my toes without ever giving away an "it's so obvious" moment. Often, games either make things too easy, treating the player as if they can't think for themselves, or go too far-fetched. This game manages to strike a solid balance, though the writing occasionally has minor plot holes or leaves you wondering, "wouldn't they just check this…?" Fortunately, these moments are rare and not enough to spoil the experience. Behind Closed Doors combines elements of L.A. Noire and Her Story (I wasn't a fan of Her Story after I reached the end for what it's worth). Some scenes have slightly amateur acting, but it never veers into cheesy or distracting territory. Ramon Hamilton, who portrays Detective Martin Ruiz, stands out with a performance that’s both convincing and compelling—especially impressive given that he also directed and co-wrote the game! The difficulty is well-balanced, with an optional "assistance" feature that prevents you from selecting incorrect evidence when identifying contradictions. This keeps the gameplay challenging without being frustrating, allowing you to focus on piecing together the story and solving the murder. My only gripe with the difficulty lies in the 'select two contradictions' mechanic: you're only given options by interview title (e.g., "[person's] interview]"), which doesn’t narrow down what exactly in the interview is relevant. A better option might be to provide a list of highlights from each interview for players to choose from. Having played many FMV games, I’d rank this as one of the better ones—right up there with Late Shift and Contradiction. I’m looking forward to another instalment in what’s shaping up to be a very promising series.
