I love this game. The instructions are clear, it is visually very appealing and the gameplay is smooth. Tried it against AI and friends.
Picked this up because it looked nice, but didn’t expect to enjoy it this much. Might be a real keeper. Turns out it’s based on a board game - I’ll have to look that up sometime.
Canvas - The Board Game

Great casual fun and good and clear UI/UX. Also good to know that the full release will have online multiplayer but most importantly multiple AI difficulty settings. AI is a bit to strong for me right now :D.
Canvas!!! <3 I was waiting for this one to come to Steam.
☑ Clear Tutorial ☑ Clear Objective (even if you don't understand, just click to get hint how to score it) ☑ Clear Game Conditions (game ends when all players submit 3 painting) ☑ AI Local Matchmaking ☑ Support 21:9 Fullscreen ☑ Have resume feature (if you close game in the mid session, you can resume later) But I still don't fully understand some rules: - at first, it confuse me why some cards gain token/cost reduce during the game - is it possible to discard card from hand? or we must submitted painting that have 0 points to discards it? Also I wish, there feature: - Online Play - AI difficulty (I always lose 😅)
Great first impression, coming from a fan of the board game. Haven't had time yet to dive deeper, but I'll keep at it and update my review with more insight.
it's a pure puzzle game, where you have to count, combine, ponder about every decision & have to know all the criteria the devs disected painting into, like Texture, Hue, Shape &sf. i don't even know why there are pictures to combine to some sort of a final painting since this game is about collecting points & not making coherent pictures. maybe if you are a totally uncreative person will this game free you to just relax & experiment. but if you have dabbled in art you will be not only disappointed but angered. & probably many of the enthusiastic players come from the board game, which is the blueprint for this digital version. on top the steam achievements are puzzle hard core, either you are extremely passionate puzzler or you'll def fail.
I love this game both digital and physical versions! I got the physical version a few years ago as a gift and it's one of my favorites. I don't get to play this in person much anymore so it's lovely to get to play on PC.
NOT RECOMMENDED. One of the largest appeals of the board game is the tactile experience of building an your art piece, layer by layer, then displaying it for all to see. Playing Canvas as a digital game completely strips out the charms and joys of the original gameplay. Feels a bit pointless when you're only left with the mediocre gameplay.
