WASTE OF MONEY! GETS STUCK EVERYTIME CAN'T EVEN PLAY ANYMORE
I already reviewed Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, but I did want to try this remaster. I was fairly impressed since many remasters do tend to absolutely screw it all up nowadays. I like a lot of the additions and graphical fidelity, but I do miss Sgt. Griggs's old voice, and the readability in some areas of fighting does suffer from the newer graphics. It can be hard to focus when all of the light sources (and sometimes sounds) get to be too overwhelming. The sounds also get to be too much when it comes to the dialogue scenes. The voices sound more "advanced" since they feel like they're a part of the environment, but the older sound was so much more crisp and clear. I believe that older sound is a big part of what made people remember these characters. In all honesty, classic Modern Warfare (2007) still looks and sounds swag today. More about the new stuff: some of the new character models make the squad members more recognizable or distinguishable than the old ones, but I do still like the old ones a lot, especially Vasquez. He's so much more bulky looking in the older game that he looks like he could be a... robot cop of some kind or maybe a... guardian of some galaxy. I would really like it if they just added a toggle feature like how they've got one in Halo. The menus look great, the story remains unchanged (as it should be), and it's still pretty fun. I think it's honestly a toss-up since I'm a little biased. I'd probably tell you to just get the classic game since it was a magical experience when I was playing it that first time, but I can understand why someone would want to see a remaster of this game in particular. Showing off gamer cred in style and playing with a new coat of paint can be fun. I would heavily recommend playing the original game before buying the remaster for any game though. Seeing the original team's work that very first time is something that everyone should be able to experience.
