Burgers is a neat little side-scrolling shooter, while it has some issues it was fun to play through it. Some parts can be unclear with achievements and boss fights can be annoying when you have to replay the entire level to have another chance at it but overall its an alright game.
Kind of interesting easy game but there is no save option, every time you restart the game you will start from the beginning which is really annoying. Won't play it anymore tho.

Burgers is a chaotic retro-inspired side-scrolling shooter developed and published by storm_sharks that embraces absurdity with complete confidence. Mixing zombie horror, arcade action, and strange comedy, the game feels like a throwback to old-school run-and-gun titles while adding its own bizarre personality to the formula. Rather than focusing on realism or deep storytelling, Burgers delivers nonstop action packed with strange enemies, exaggerated violence, and intentionally ridiculous scenarios. The game clearly understands that its appeal comes from pure arcade-style entertainment, and it commits fully to that energetic and often nonsensical identity. The story follows a group of German soldiers sent into a mysterious town where horrifying experiments and supernatural events have transformed the area into a nightmare. What begins as a military operation quickly escalates into a chaotic battle for survival against monstrous enemies and bizarre creatures. The narrative is intentionally over-the-top, leaning heavily into campy horror and dark comedy rather than serious war drama. This exaggerated tone helps the game stand out because it never takes itself too seriously. Instead, it constantly pushes ridiculous ideas and strange situations that make the experience feel more like a chaotic B-movie than a traditional shooter. Gameplay is built around classic side-scrolling action mechanics inspired by older arcade titles. Players blast through stages filled with enemies, hazards, and bosses while collecting upgrades and surviving increasingly intense encounters. The controls are straightforward and responsive, allowing the combat to remain fast and accessible without unnecessary complexity. Shooting mechanics focus on quick reactions and nonstop movement, creating a satisfying rhythm where players are constantly dodging attacks and clearing enemy waves. The simplicity of the combat works well because the game’s main goal is to maintain energy and momentum rather than provide deep tactical systems. One of the game’s stronger features is its progression and customization system. Completing missions and defeating enemies rewards players with points that can be spent on unlocking weapons, characters, and upgrades. This gives players a reason to replay levels and experiment with different loadouts. The additional content helps extend the game’s lifespan beyond the initial campaign and adds variety to the combat. While the progression mechanics are not especially advanced, they fit the arcade structure nicely and create a rewarding sense of growth over time. The cooperative multiplayer mode is where Burgers feels most entertaining. Playing alongside friends transforms the chaotic combat into a much more enjoyable and unpredictable experience. Enemy waves become more intense, explosions fill the screen constantly, and the game’s absurd humor feels far more effective when shared with other players. The cooperative gameplay captures the spirit of classic couch co-op shooters, encouraging teamwork while still maintaining the frantic arcade pacing. Even when the game becomes messy or unbalanced, multiplayer sessions often remain fun simply because of how ridiculous the action becomes. The arena mode also adds extra replay value by allowing players to fight against customized enemy encounters outside the main campaign. This mode emphasizes survival and experimentation, giving players additional opportunities to test upgraded characters and weapons. Although relatively simple, it complements the core gameplay well and reinforces the game’s focus on arcade-style replayability. Visually, Burgers embraces colorful pixel-art graphics and exaggerated animations that match the game’s chaotic tone. The environments are filled with explosions, strange monsters, and cartoonishly violent effects that create a lively arcade atmosphere. While the graphics are not technically impressive, the visual style has enough personality to remain memorable. The retro presentation works particularly well because it supports the fast-paced gameplay and emphasizes the game’s old-school inspirations. The sound design also contributes heavily to the overall experience. Gunfire, explosions, and enemy noises constantly fill the battlefield, creating a noisy and energetic atmosphere that fits the nonstop action perfectly. The soundtrack maintains a fast pace during combat and helps keep the momentum moving forward. Like the visuals, the audio design prioritizes excitement and chaos over subtlety, which suits the game’s identity well. Despite its strengths, Burgers does suffer from repetition over longer play sessions. The gameplay loop remains fairly simple throughout the campaign, and enemy encounters can begin to feel repetitive after extended periods of play. Some jokes and comedic moments are amusing, while others feel random or underdeveloped. The game’s low-budget nature is also noticeable in certain animations, level structures, and technical roughness. Players expecting polish comparable to larger indie shooters may find parts of the experience unrefined. Still, there is a certain charm in how unapologetically strange the game is. Burgers succeeds because it fully embraces its ridiculous concept instead of trying to imitate more serious action games. The developers clearly prioritized fun, chaos, and cooperative entertainment over realism or complexity. That enthusiasm gives the game personality even when some mechanics feel rough around the edges. For players who enjoy retro arcade shooters, bizarre indie humor, and cooperative action games, Burgers offers an entertaining experience packed with fast-paced combat and absurd situations. It may not revolutionize the genre, but its energetic gameplay and strange personality help make it memorable. The game works best when approached as a goofy arcade adventure designed for quick bursts of chaotic fun rather than a deeply polished action masterpiece. While flawed, it remains an enjoyable tribute to classic side-scrolling shooters filled with enough personality to stand apart from more generic indie action titles. Rating: 6/10
