If you're hoping this game is as good as the first game or better, you'll be mildly disappointed. It's really missing the polish the first game had, and you can see seams in the map everywhere. But hey, now you have a bow to miss shots with as well as throwing knives to whiff. Also I encountered a problem where the teleporter won't teleport me to exactly where the ball landed or shows where I should be placed. There's an offset, making it much harder to approach something like a door to open it or a table to grab scissors sitting on top of it.
When I first played Budget Cuts, It was a literal masterpiece work of art of a game. I mean, it was a stealth VR game, but it had a good story, the graphics were quite literally perfect for the style of game it was. They let the game run good while keeping a great aesthetic. The story is actually good, it is so good because it allows you to run it at your own pace, and the pace you run it at matches up anyways. Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency is the peak of 1, but if you could say the word "peak-er". The story is just good, it has environmental storytelling, you don't have to get it shoved down your throat with un-skippable cutscenes and locked areas. It combines action, puzzles, and other aspects to form something that actually entertained me, which around all the VR slop there is today, is pretty rare. After playing one, and hearing about two, I bought it swiftly. It amazed me how well they kept the story going, and how even after completing one, two wouldn't even be needed, since one was constructed well anyways. Great game, 11/10, Please, if you're a beginner to VR, play this. If you aren't, play it anyways. It's a great ass game.
As a VR game this hasn't aged well. The inventory is clunky, the locomotion is outdated and the interactivity is not really there. It's clearly relatively polished and written with some good humour, but VR has past this point where playing this feels incredibly outdated and lacking compared to many other VR experiences on the market.
Budget Cuts 2 normally:
"Hey, this game's pretty fun. It adds meaningful depth in areas that the previous game was lacking in, entirely new mechanics where they're needed, a mostly different setting, and a pretty damn good story. It's a great stealth game, it's a great world that I'm glad to see expanded, and I'm happy to see such a wonderful continuation to such an excellent IP! :D"
Budget Cuts 2 with Adam Isolation enabled:
This game is single handedly the most nerve wracking experience I've ever had to endure in a VR game in my entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ life. The kind of fear that this mode instills in me on such a visceral, primal level is unlike anything I have ever played before -- let alone in VR. You have to play it yourself to understand, as words literally cannot describe the stress, tension, and sheer unbridled terror that is generated from playing this otherwise mostly light-hearted game with this modifier enabled. (But you should definitely play the game normally first before trying it)
Ощущение такие же, как от второго Expect you to die.
good sequel
Felt worse than the first. it's not an improvment on the first so it fails
a good follow up. new mechanics are pretty cool.
