'Boxed In' was designed and developed for VR and can also be enjoyed in the "traditional" way using either keyboard & mouse or a controller. You must clear the room of coloured cubes by creating matches. The cubes can come from in-front, above, or below. Just make sure you don't get...Boxed In!

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
«Boxed In»
Добро пожаловать! boxed in is a 1st-person matching game, supports vr if that's your thing. you're in a confined space with a gun that can change the color of blocks and place new ones, so do that to make matches as new blocks keep appearing on their own as well. an optional tutorial teaches the basics. if you get out, there's more to explore, but I never made it that far. well, I fell through the ground a couple of times and got stuck in space, but it probably doesn't count. I was told by the dev it's part of the game, but all it does is ruin the run and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying when it happens. if it looks and feels like a bug or glitch, it should be considered as such and fixed. the game is endless score attack, there's survival and solitaire. in the former you have to act quick before blocks reach the other end of the room, the latter is more relaxed, no time pressure or new blocks, just clear the mostly filled room. no outside exploration after non-survival completion either, which is a bummer, so it's essentially just busywork for nothing. further customization includes number of colors (3, 4 or 5), match mode (rows or blocks), where blocks come from (above, below or from the back wall), and there's a separate leaderboard for all the variations. block matching is harder than rows and I found the 'from above' setting the least enjoyable due to the controls while always having to look up. gravity only applies to 'back wall' mode, in the other two loose blocks stay in mid-air. you can't switch color on the gun, nor is the next color the one you just 'collected' from a block or something. every shot is colored randomly, making things more difficult, but matches kind of explode and remove other connected blocks of the same color, so there's that. speaking of, controls aren't rebindable and arrows don't work for movement, only wasd, huge accessibility issue. space jumps, left click changes the color of the block you're aiminig at, right click adds a new block to the side of the targeted block, middle mouse, ctrl or shift pushes a block when it's close. if that has a choice of 3, why is basic movement so restricted? it doesn't help that the mouse can bug out, you're suddenly looking at a completely different place than a second ago. very disorienting and annoying. settings are for separate volumes, languages, graphics quality, invert y-axis, sensitivity and movement speed, plus colorblind options, but no resolutions or windowed mode. as simple as it is, it's pretty good (some of the combinations anyway), though I had to constantly remind myself that I can move, jump and push, and of course survival is a lot more stressful than I like my games to be, leading to constantly mixing up left and right click. that's on me, however, the game can't be paused, which is inexcusable, hence the non-recommendation. if basic functionality ever gets added, I'll edit the review.
At first load I thought great another Tetris like game in VR, if you read my Tetris VR type game review you would know how I feel about that. But after playing this one for a while it's a lot better than that pile of ♥♥♥♥, in fact, it's not to bad for what it is. There are two modes survival where the coloured blocks are coming towards you from which ever side you pick (top, bottom and side wall which I found best). You have to match either 3 or 4 (depending on your menu pick) colours to make the boxes disappear before they squash you. You can add boxes and push boxes and teleport around to get as many gone before you're overwhelmed. I got to 3rd on the global high scores so expecting Kim Jong Ong to give me my bronze medal. Solitaire is just removing the boxes already placed in a room in your own time, I have to say I'm top of the global leader's board in this one and awaiting my Gold although there was only one other recorded score on the board. Altogether not a bad little game reminded me of that gem game I used to play on the Sega Megadrive or probably like one of those phone games but in VR and with just basic blocks. Six dollars seems ok would probably expect more of a two dollar game but someone has put some effort in and it at least works fine which is more than some of the other VR indie games.
Absolute Suchtgefahr!
2 Minute Video Review → https://youtu.be/RRPCk65PIk0 This is a really solid "match the color to eliminate cubes" puzzle game So yeah, you've probably played similar games before, but the VR implementation is quite good. I had fun with this, and the price is right for the experience.
(Got this game for free courtesy of a developer's submission to SteadyGiveaways. Thanks!)
This nice puzzle game won't exactly make you feel Boxed In!
Boxed In is a clever puzzle game following old conventions, but adding a nice 3D perspective into the fray. You can eliminate boxes from the wall, from the ceiling or even from beneath your own feet. You can run and jump to angle yourself in order to eliminate the boxes. Quite a unique experience! (Please note that you do NOT need VR to play this game. People with VR can receive a different experience from keyboard players though.) In your arsenal is a gun that randomizes which kind of block/beam to shoot. Left click changes an existing block to the presented color, right click lays a box of the presented color next to the box you're pointing at. Use this knowledge to destroy the boxes! There are 2 different modes you can play, an endless survival mode that creates more and more boxes. Eliminate as many as you can before the furthest-most box touches the opposite wall! Or you can play a casual solitaire mode if rushing isn't your forte (if you're like me). In Solitaire, the boxes won't move and you're free to clear the room at your own pace, without any pressure. Any negatives? Well, if I had to list any complaints, it would be that the game could use a larger scope. More box colors, more modes, maybe even special boxes with neat little gimmicks. In other words, it could use more stuff. I don't have VR, but I would say that for the short time I played this, I enjoyed it. The $6 pricetag is a bit to swallow though. Wait for a sale, where I'd recommend the price of $3 for a satisfactory value. Or if you're impatient, jump right into it and support the developer. This game is worth your attention, give it a look! 8/10 Destroy boxes, change your perspective, and don't feel Boxed In!
Full Disclaimer: I am the developer of this game, that's why the number of hours played is over 1,000! (Shame it's not 9,000.) What I liked about this product...erm, well I feel I might be biased but, I do like the music...oh wait, I made some of that...erm...the Easter Egg is cool - it features a jetpack which you can take into the main game. There's also a mini-game where you have to fly through rings, pick-up pineapples and land on a target. Oh, and there's a hidden castle too. By the way - all of that is completely true. If you don't believe me - do a quick search for "Boxed In Easter Egg". What I disliked about this product...the fact that I've spent over 1,000 hours on it! Just kidding.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
I have played other similar games in VR to this, but this is the best and only one I recommend of its type. It plays smooth. It's frantic. It's fun, but obviously it's not for everyone. You have to like the match color type gameplay. If you do, then I recommend this is the one you should get from the other options. This is also family friendly. The graphics are simple. The sounds are basic. There's 2 main game modes: Solitaire and Survival. Survival is the clear winner if you like frantic gameplay. It's actually very difficult to keep up with the pace. So you'll see huge multipliers where you clear up an entire area, but this one block stays near there and so you have to keep your eye on that to try to get a match 3 (or 4). The cubes keep pushing forward or down or up until you run out of space. Solitaire is more relaxed. The cubes don't push forward. You basically just want to clear out the cubes as fast as possible. However, I personally didn't really find this mode all that interesting. You can teleport around to get better line of sight. You can eliminate cubes by matching 3 colors in a row or 4 squared colors. You can also choose between 3, 4, or 5 colors to match. You can choose whether cubes come from the front, the bottom, or the top. You also have to at times add an adjacent colored cube to get the matches. Your laser pointer randomly changes colors. You'll have to change the color of a cube to get a match or add an adjacent cube (color of laser). It sounds easy, but when those cubes start coming forward, it becomes a real test of your quick and accurate thinking. And yeah, you play for bragging rights on the leaderboards obviously (I won't personally do much bragging because I didn't do so hot). Rate 6.5/10
