About

Protect yourself as long as you must in Box of Broken Nails - a surreal horror experience.
Use your hammer and nails to board up an unknown door with something breaking out. Find resources around your house and nail down planks in time. Don't let it open. No matter what.

There is only this one note, it reads:
"Since I started living here alone, the nights felt endless. I barely remember if my halls have been this way before. Lately I hear the sounds of my work from behind the walls. The plates are shattering over and over again. I’m just making things up again, am I not? There was never anything wrong with...
And even if, it changes nothing — what matters is that I simply must continue and make, make…
...Make it go away."
No text notes, no audio logs. The story unfolds through the gameplay itself and what it evokes in you.
A stressful game loop that changes over time.
An unexpected turn of events.
Only one outcome.
Box of Broken Nails contains flashing lights, strong camera shaking, and intentional visual distortion effects. Please use caution if you are affected by flashing or rapidly moving visuals.

Short but impactful and filled with tension and emotion.
I'm getting these planks nailed, internal horrors of the tortured mind be damned.

Broken Box of Nails is a fascinating, short horror experience that leaves you completely in the dark. Admittedly I came from Power Pak's video, but I am left in awe of this simple game. I played it for myself before learning about spoilers and it is great at being tense, overwhelming at times, and constructed with a level of simplistic genius that makes me admire it all the more. It's all about the details while simultaneously giving the player a level of freedom to find themselves in the story, all without confirming a thing. 10/10, worth every penny.
Short and sweet, well worth the $5. Came here after the PowerPak vid came on my feed, downloaded the game, then watched the vid. Highly recommend you play this first and then watch, no exceptions. Seems like insane attention to detail from devs.
Power Pak Going insane over this was a fun watch, disappointed its kinda wonky with proton.
As so many have said, I was lured to this project by the PowerPak video. It didn't disappoint! The abstract style and panicked gameplay really clicked with me. It's not a long game. It does exactly what it wants to, and doesn't overstay its welcome. Many games and narratives (indeed, many that I still adore) could learn from this example.
Me personally, I find the Horrors quite comprehendible
A very tense experience with themes, should you choose to engage with them, that will leave you feeling introspective and wondering. It's short, it's interesting, it's scary! Play it! :)
Pretty neat game :) Like a friend of mine said: Life is all about looking for wood, which you can't find
