Bookshop Simulator

It's so easy for me to lose hours to this game. The gameplay is repetitive, but in a way that is fun and relaxing, and I'm having a great time rearranging and decorating my bookstore as I unlock more stuff. I also like that I can revisit previous bookstore locations and install displays and items that I've unlocked through progression elsewhere. It's got cute cats, a cozy soundtrack, and funny parodies of real books. Some of the negative reviews for this game speculate that some of it, like the book artwork, is AI generated. I just wanted to mention that Blep officially stated in a Steam community discussion in January 2026 that that do not use any gen AI. "One of our founders is an artist and does all art related work. We do use some stock art, but only those labeled no-AI, for book/manga/comics/board game artwork." Just hoping to combat misinformation. I have a few criticisms, but they don't impact my overall enjoyment of the game so I'm still leaving a positive review. 1. The character models are just really odd. Everyone looks feminine. You can infer that the bald or bearded NPCs are supposed to be men, but that's honestly the only way you can tell. 2. I didn't realize until the latest update where they added the customer service desk that customers were even looking for book recommendations. I've never seen a ! or a speech bubble, or any visual indicator that a customer was looking for help. It's the only meaningful way you can really interact with the customers in your store, and apparently I could have been doing it all along. I'm happy that I know now, and it adds a little more depth to running the shop, but I wish I had known sooner. 3. I wish we had just a little more freedom with decorating our shops. More plants. More varied types of shelving. And the ability to add back walls after we unlock a new section of the shop so I don't just have to use bookshelves to create partitions. 4. You really can't interact with your staff at all except to fire them, reassign them, or give them a raise when they occasionally ask for one. These idiots have to work for hours before opening and more hours after closing while I screw around with decorating and they restock the shelves, and I can't even say good morning to them or tell them they're doing a great job. It feels bad.

Игра надоедает через пару дней, так как только твой первый магазин становится более развитым, дальше ничего интересного не происходит. Покупаешь новый, появлятся один вид предметов для продажи (закладки, либо манга и тд) в зависимости от города, в котором ты его открываешь. Ничего больше не меняется. Советую разработчику больше обновлять игру, добавлять новые книги и движухи. И да, графика тоже не очень. Периодически у персонажей исчезает одежда, волосы. Персонажи однотипные. Как минимум для магазина Японии можно было сделать отдельных. Ни одного японца там не увидела, так же как и не увидела стиля одежды, характерного для этой страны.
