Indebted to the wrong people, with his life on the line, veteran of the U.S. Cavalry and now hired gun, Booker DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean. He must rescue Elizabeth, a mysterious girl imprisoned since childhood and locked up in the flying city of Columbia.

Finiti i proiettili?
TLDR: Finished the game in 14 hours, which seems a bit quick. Somewhat similar in game style to Bioshock and Bioshock 2, the game is an FPS, you have an assortment of weapons you can choose from, as well as some magic powers to throw around. It's a good time, if not a particularly long one. Somewhat famously, Bioshock: Infinite starts with a very long sequence, in which the Player, (playing a PI called Booker DeWitt), is free to simply arrive in the city of Columbia, and explore for quite a long time, before everything goes to hell. Very different to the original Bioshock where people are screaming for your blood the moment you arrive... This is a pretty cool start to the game, where the player is thinking, "well this place seems nice... I wonder what the problem is?". Whereas Bioshock the First immediately presents the player with a city gone completely insane. Also somewhat famously, Bioshock: Infinite gives you a companion called "Elizabeth" fairly early in the game, and a lot of game's narrative is driven by Elizabeth and her abilities. Each section of the game, (like Bioshock 1 and 2), has a hub area connecting to 2-4 other areas, and the player has to resolve an issue / retrieve an item from each area, return to the hub and proceed to the other linked areas, in an order of the Player's choosing. While this tries to present a "non-linear" aspect to the game, it's a bit of a fake-out because the Player must complete all the objectives before continuing. Likewise, the Player is presented with several seemingly critical decisions over the course of the game, but these decisions will only actually make small cosmetic changes in the game. Although this ties into some of the ideas the game is toying with, such as fate being pre-determined, and free will being a myth, it does mean that the game only has a single ending, somewhat limiting replayability, unless you REALLY want to see the small differences you can make. Although I guess you can probably replay the whole thing in 12 hours or so, so there is that. A lot of whether you'll love this game really comes down to whether you enjoy the narrative, and the characters of both Elizabeth and Booker. The actual gameplay is combat heavy, large numbers of enemies will spawn to attack the pair, and although Elizabeth doesn't fight, she will throw ammo and healing kits to Booker, and you can call on her to use her reality warping powers, which are dependant on the location. In some places she might be able to create a wall you can use for cover, or create a friendly turret to assist you. Elizabeth doesn't take damage, (the enemy want her alive and you dead), and never gets in your way so the game doesn't feel like an "escort" mission. Personally, I liked Elizabeth and Booker both. Like the previous games, there is very little interaction with the other characters in the game, (although actually more in Infinite than in the first two). I also enjoyed the story and the ending, which has been much debated online. Still, the game is a fairly basic FPS game, and it can be a bit of a slog at times to mow down all the enemies in a area. At 12-14 hrs it's all over pretty quick, so unless you're looking to follow an interesting narrative, your experience may very from mine.
100% Achievement Review: A quick review based on my experience completing all the (available) achievements.
Feel free to follow my curator for more 100% reviews! (DLC REQUIRED FOR 100%) Title: Bioshock Infinite Summary: Atmospheric fps game Personal notes: Bioshock Infinite is the third entry in the Bioshock series, this time being a prequel that takes place about 50 years before the events of the first game. Infinite also leaves behind the underwater city of Rapture and instead takes place in Columbia, a massive floating city in the clouds. You play as Booker, a detective tasked with finding and returning a woman named Elizabeth to New York. Sounds simple enough right...watch out for birds! I played the first two Bioshock games on the xbox growing up but skipped Infinite and decided to go back and play through all three and honestly, I had a blast. The gameplay of Infinite is a lot faster and "loose" than the previous entries which in addition to the increased mobility made combat feel fun and chaotic. I felt like I enjoyed the gunplay and speed of the combat more but was left a little dissapointed with the Vigors, Columbia's version of plasmids. I felt like they were less varied and only a few were really viable. Plus I was not a big fan of only being able to carry two weapons in comparision to the wheel but I did get pretty used to it after a while. The world design is once again incredible. Columbia is very impressive visually and exploring the city was very rewarding. They go from the sea to the sky but still manage to create a beautiful and engaging world that invites you to explore. The story of Infinite is also very strong despite having mixed opinions on the end and DLC endings. Booker and Elizabeth are very interesting characters that work even better together, plus the new setting of Columbia gives players a fresh take. Some parts of the story can be confusing but I was engaged from the start till the end. The audio is great as always. The soundtrack of Columbia captures the world perfectly, making the world feel immersive and lived in despite the circumstances. The voice acting is also very solid throughout especially Booker and Elizabeth, whose relationship carries a lot of the emotional weight in the story. Visually this game looks fantastic. I feel like they managed to maintain the art direction of the first two games all the while improving upon it. The beautiful bright skies and detailed floating buildings make the world feel almost heavenly. The only downside I can think of is that Infinite moves away from some of the elements that made the first two games feel unique. The focus is much more on action, resulting in less freedom to experiment or interact with the environment. The story also becomes increasingly complex as it goes on, and while I enjoyed it a lot and decided to look up on more lore of the series itself, some players may find parts of it confusing by the end. Achievement-wise, this game is fairly similiar to the previous two with one specific outlier. Most achievements are related to progress, finding all the collectables and the such but... the Blue Ribbon Champ achievement was such a pain. You are tasked with doing very specific and tedious things in survival arenas, it's not crazy difficult if you know what to do but it took me a good 8 hours after beating the story of grinding. All things considered, I had a great time with Bioshock Infinite and am glad that I came back to it all these years later to see what I missed. The world/setting is incredible once again, the new characters are fun and memorable and the story is ambitious yet well done for the most part. I don't think it reaches the same heights (or depths) as the games in Rapture but I think it was still very solid. I would easily recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the first two Bioshock games or those who enjoy story-driven/atmospheric shooter games. Time it took to complete: 39hrs Most difficult achievement(s): - Sightseer (Used all telescopes and Kinetoscopes in the game.) - Scavenger Hunt (Complete the game in 1999 Mode without purchasing anything from a Dollar Bill vending machine.) - Blue Ribbon Champ (In CitC, completed all Blue Ribbon Challenges.) Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆ 8/10 Overall rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆ 8/10
BioShock Infinite
BioShock Infinite -
This game is a rare era masterpiece : Graphics, colour tones and mechanics abilities, story woven. the city floats, you switch-jump mid air to another line that allows u to ravel between parts of the city with a device in ur hand. LAST time I played this game was May 2023, I played on the og steam deck, BUT I tried to play it again june 2026, steam did updates and removed an internal launcher, now the GAME WONT START on ANY proton layers, I tried for 3 hours. I miss physical copies, detached from the internet, for stuff like this..... bro .... leave ma ship alone!
This was my second time playing BioShock Infinite, and I still loved it. The world is beautiful, strange, and unsettling and the game does a great job pulling you into its story right away. The combat is fun, the powers keep things interesting, and Elizabeth is still one of the best companion characters in any game. She actually adds to the experience instead of feeling like someone you have to babysit.
