Didn't do it for me. The puzzles are nice enough, but they all feel like concepts you've seen before, in one form or another. (It ain't no "The Witness", that's for sure!) Mostly, this was just endless frustration of getting stuck on terrain, bad music, and long stretches of boredom between puzzles. (Haaaated the music!) A lot of people seem to enjoy this less as a game, and more as a hangout with friends, but personally there are so many much more fun things I would rather do (and often actually do) with my friends.
This is not a bad game, i think it might even be a great game! That being said, it doesn't deliver on its main promise, during my 12 hours I did not have a single Big Walk. The problem here is that the map is very dense and not very big at the same time, there's something to do every 100 meters. This is great for people with a 5 minute attention span, but for me it made discovery feel very cheap and unrewarding. it basically becomes a bunch of Short Sprints... Now the world is beautiful but also very monotone, after the first 2 hours, I did not encounter any new interesting biomes or places beyond the man-made structures, the natural variety was lacking so everyone ended up sprinting through the woods to find the next big structure. There was little value in walking through the same looking muted-green forest with grey rocks, barren savannah or beach over and over again, and when it got dark it made traversal go from a neutral experience to an actual chore. I had hoped to have fun by having to walk a bunch of... Big Walks across an interesting world where I could talk with my friends and have a rare encounter every so often. Instead, by the time we got back from a puzzle, there were 4 new places to run to instantly, there was never time or space to talk about anything but the next objective. That being said, the puzzles were fun if not a bit simple, the voice + walkie-talkie systems were genuinly used in a novel way, and the ending section was absolutely amazing. Conceptually there is a great game here, it's just that the world is not very conductive to good pacing or proper utilization of the gameplay features. Get it if you want a puzzle game to play with your friends, not if you want to have a Big Walk with them.
Not yet. I’m playing it with a friend. The in game voice communication is terrible quality. Having to stand on top of someone to communicate is ridiculous. I have a suspicion that the creators have never been outside and communicated with anyone via voice (the sound that comes out of a mouth). I spent a lifetime talking with people in real life both indoors and outside and I can honestly say I never had to stand on someone’s toes for the to hear me. If you are a little farther away generally you raise your voice a bit. Days seem to last 5 minutes and then boom night again. Now sound travels better at night than during the day and yet we still couldn’t hear each other. After the first day we resorted to Discord, since we were streaming having the audience be able to hear all the players is a must. It’s a cute game but without multiple audio sliders to adjust volume levels you can’t fine tune anything. Oh and the radio station locations are so loud that it’s obnoxious but there’s no slider to turn the music down. If you do that you turn down all the sounds including the other players. My advice wait until they fix all the issues. 14.99 us is still too much cash for this title in this state.

I walked (pun not intended) into this with great expectations with my group of 6 friends, and while they were continuing to enjoy themselves past the 1 hour mark, I found myself increasingly frustrated with a game that advertises "walking and talking" as one of its main selling points. The proximity voice chat not reaching beyond a couple meters led to countless moments of frustration where I did not receive a response, often feeling like I'm being aired or ignored. I don't want to have to repeat myself several times just to be able to butt in on conversations that I often missed because of the complete lack of volume sliders - as someone that is hard of hearing, not being able to adjust individual channels seems like a massive oversight as the SFX drowns out all the voices. This often led to moments where I felt incredibly lonely or isolated, which is fine once in a while, but with how often this happened it seemed very counterintuitive for a game that's supposed to be played together with friends. I understand that the slow walking and travel pace is intended—the game's title makes that very clear—but I think it hurts the game more than it benefits it. If you get split up, it ends up taking far longer than it should to group up again. This only added to the feeling of isolation I felt while playing the game, while also throwing FOMO into the bag, since there's little point in waiting for others to group up given the time it takes to do so. The day and night cycle and inventory system do not help the case for this either, as they hinder progress when splitting into smaller groups with item slot pressure (even with backpacks and the like), with the night further exacerbating this due to needing a light source of some kind. There are other issues in the game that other Steam users have put more eloquently than I have. I did have fun with this game, but not enough to justify the investment ($20 per player!), and I probably wouldn't even recommend it for when it goes on sale. I'll edit my review if anything changes.
-Having more than 4 players but less than 8 is frustrating, groups can't really split since most puzzles require the max number and having extra people almost always means they sit around doing nothing while the others finish. Extremely frustrating to see friends either have to do nothing because they're not needed or just actively grief each other just to interact with the game. -Walking around is not enjoyable despite clearly being designed around. I'd estimate about half the game time is just walking, inflated by needing to ferry the objects to towers and the other unlockable travel often being worse. There's very little in the environment and most parts of the island look the same. Voice proximity is so low that with a group of 6, the person walking in the front can't hear the person walking in the back. Geometry isn't smooth and you get caught on objects and corners constantly and frequently have to spam jump to escape. Night time makes these even worse. You can carry light items but the friction between stumbling and dropping and needing a second person to access the backpack etc makes it often worse than just stumbling forward in the dark. -"Puzzles" aren't really that. Most solutions are evident from the get go and are just tedium. Almost all of them can be boiled down to a few groups, and often the required solutions are not different. One or two basic communication ideas can solve essentially every puzzle they're needed in. Final puzzles are slightly better since you can't communicate a plan with words but also are a little too straightforward so are just marginally better. -Game performs surprisingly poorly for what it is. FPS hovers 100-110 in average places, with some friends having worse.
This game transcends the "friendslop" label that people give it, easily a 10/10 game here
