This game has a lot to love, and I had a good time playing it. The combat system is fun, the exploration elements are fun, graphics are great, and music (when present) is also really nice. I liked the boss designs, which were varied and generally fun. (Quite a few bosses can be cheesed quite easily, but it did not detract from the experience). Platforming and controls does leave a bit to be desired, as many have pointed out, but I believe it also got improved after patching. There is an inherent challenge with the main attack also being used to attach to chains for platforming, as there are times where enemies are close to a chain, and the game does not understand if you want to hit the enemy or attach to the chain. There are also some glitches/limitations for example when you walk in staircases you cannot crouch or hit diagonally down. Otherwise I did enjoy the platforming with the chain, but I do wish it was more snappy. I ended up so many times just "slapping" the chain and falling, since it requires you to hold for a while to attach. The attack upgrade where you spin your chain also really struggles to read your input. I also think that some intermittent checkpoints certain places would make the experience a lot more enjoyable. The combination of difficult platforming not always being as tight as the challenge requires, and having to replay a long stretch of game, does not really add to the experience. Story/setting - I love the various environments and colour schemes, but to me the story was a bit confusing. I liked the small societies and their connections, but the larger story (shooting arrows into people to make them a hero), and the few story choices you can make were not something that grabbed my immersion. As a side-note, the game is quite fun to speedrun.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I almost never like the whip-like weapons, but the weapon of this game had both some interesting movements and a blade at the end, but also dealing with enemies is what made it more interesting, because many games would just use the mechanic of enemies reviving if you don't finish them to put a lot of enemies in a tight space just to give you a sense of artificial difficulty of quanity over quality, but in this game every enemy position is studied in a way that enemies can still be a menace alone, but when there are more that can attack you either in the same place or in an immediate subsequent way when you go forward, it will be in an intellligent and possibly bastard way, some enemies really got me good with some unexpected tricks.
A lot of enemies also surprised me for their relentlesness, because they are placed in spots where they can follow you even until the end of the screen, and they are also immune to almost every type of spike but one, and they can climb on platforms above half the protagonist height, even if they are zombies with only the upper half.
The movements of the protagonist are a bit slow paced yes, but they improve going forward, and honestly, talking about slow paced, it felt better than Blasphemous (that I completed at 100% with C ending) for both movement, platforming and most of the bosses, above all the giant ones were the peak of this game for me, and contrary to Blasphemous, that still has this issue to this day, there were not hitboxes problems during fights or important platforming sections. I mean the reason I died more at Blasphemous than this game is because I wasn't giving that much attention to many of those bosses aside from maybe 2 or 3, while the enemies, obstacles and bosses of this game made me keep my attention almost always and I still got kicked in the ass sometimes. As for the plot, I think I prefer a straightforward revenge story like this to one with an hypocritic man that act like judge, jury and executioner toward poor souls pretending to be the saviour while however vexing and killing them in some painful ways (so yes both the Penitent One and the Cardinal of Blasphemous are quite similar) Anyway this game was a blast for most of the time, the little issues being for me the lack of a detailed map for the zones and the fact of losing money if you didn't survive until the next checkpoint without having a chance of recovering them, which isn't that much of a problem given of much you can gain, but still bothered me a little, above all for the ones in one time chests, but it's all manageable in the end
This game is a joke. I like hard games but when their are fair. In this 'game' your main enemies are clunky controls and bad level design (and game desing in general). I know this was made to be oldschool but it was done in a very bad way. I don't like to give bad notes but there's no fun in reapeting the whole level because controls didn't work correctly even if graphics looks cool.
This game is awesome looking and the premise, but the execution is lacking. They really need an update to fix the chain... it thinks on its own and doesn't really feel the input your poressing, It is nerve wrecking. The world built is awesome. I wish they had a quality of life update. For instance being able to see down. When you get upgrades see on your character. I loved the wings. But I feel their should be some story there. Non the less I love playing this game. Another error I encountered is In got the chest...aka rubbies or whatever and just cause I got killed it disappeared from my inventory, which means I can't upgrade my characters strength stats. If I can't upgrade it means I can't better my character to face harder enemies meaning I'm stuck. This is a huge BUG , and needs to be fixed immediately. I can take a chain to progress to travel to the next level not working ,but not my upgrade pieces that I worked hard to retrieve. These both are major issues and will turn people off the game immidiately. Developers please fix this awesome game. I want to be A+ status and get a third installment. Their are too many female metroidvanias lets even it. This title could be todays recent spiritual successor of Super Castlevania 4, and not the current female Belmont which makes no sense. So please ladies and gentlemen fix this game! I really enjoy it. Need more levels. I feel like I am about to finish it too soon.

An 8 way whip, that connects to swing points and other various hooks. A slow walk, and floaty jump. Spooky atmosphere. Gamers, I think we have a Castlevania 4 fan game here, regardless of it's actual title. Really fun linear platformer. Well you can go back to previous areas to look for upgrade crystals that are spent on basic stat upgrades. It's statsfying enough but not a Metroidvania, thankfully, and not something I ever felt I needed to do. Which is good as I really liked the platforming, especially once you get your full set of abilities, and just wanted to press on. It truly does feel like a expanded CV4. That extends to the combat as well, were hits feel satisfyingly hard and it finds a few ways to expand on the whip's (well chain in this game) hooking abilities. Sadly there is a hook dash move that occasionally feels buggy, for whatever reason you character will just stop short while doing this in both combat and platforming moments. It never got so bad as to imped progress, and was the only real bug I encountered. While it's not a terribly difficult game there checkpoints that send you a demoralizing ways back, especially in the later sections of the game. These are the only blemishes that come to mind, and both are ultimately pretty minor it what is an easy, rocksolid, recommendation.
Bugs and lack of checkpoints make this "work of art" not worth it.
Mais uma bosta de jogo!
