BATTALION: Legacy recaptures the core of classic shooters in the final iteration of Battalion 1944. Return to the simple days of playing first person shooters with your friends. Grab your bolt action rifle in 'rifles only' mode or compete in 5v5 Search and Destroy.

MAN can we PLEASE get a community revival of this game somehow or build something similar? miss the oldschool cod sniping feel and the whole community of this game. the way it felt, ran, etc. all perfect
Unfortunately BULKHEAD abandoned the game mid development and only offered refunds to Kickstarter backers, not Steam purchases. They "released" the game as free to play after it sat in early access purgatory for years, the game long dead by then.

Why nobody is playing this? Like literally why This game has good gunplay and gun audio better, and more accurate than call of duty has. Maps have great look, a few are in Normandy, one is in Poland!, two in Netherland/Holland! from Market Garden operation, two more in Italy, and just more. So what happened? Gameplay is like Counter-Strike + Cod combo, set on engine similar to Hell Let Loose. Yes. But older version. Dedicated servers. PvP and PvE mods. Everything that you need is here. And it's f2p o.O Tell me why..
Battalion 1944 had everything it needed to become the next competitive shooter. Tight gunplay, rewarding movement, classic World War II combat, and enough old-school charm to make veterans feel right at home. The problem? You can't play against ghosts. When the servers were alive, every round rewarded skill over gimmicks. Winning came down to aim, positioning and teamwork instead of whoever had unlocked this week's overpowered meta weapon. Unfortunately, players drifted away faster than my motivation after dying to the same sniper for the sixth round straight. Before long, finding a match became the real competitive mode. Battalion 1944 wasn't a bad game - it was a good game that arrived at the wrong party, and by the time everyone noticed, the lights were already off. Sometimes the hardest shot to land is keeping a player base alive.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢀⡀⡀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢠⣤⣄⡀ ⠀⠀⣶⡇⠀⣾⡇⠀⠛⠃⠀⠀⣾⠛⠛⠀⠀⡇⣀ ⠀⠀⣿⠻⣼⣿⠇⠀⢸⡇⠀⢸⡇⠀⢀⡀⠀⡏⠉ ⠀⠀⠟⠀⠹⠿⠁⠀⠘⠃⠀⠀⠙⠛⠋⠀⠀⠛⠛⠋⠁⠀⠀⠀
Id do anything to boot this up with the boys again
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me with wardogs, its double shame for you.
Back in 2016, I believe (don't hold me to the number), this game was on another level. Me and my friend made a Steam account just to play his game. The integration with FACEIT was also something else, and there's many memories, good and bad, about this game, but the nostalgia will never go away when it comes to this game. On my old Steam account, with over 1.5k hours playing the game at its peak, I can gladly say I'm missing this game. I return here and there to play a match of SnD with a random fella that joins the bot lobby, and the feeling of it is indescribable. The game is still good, I just wish they'd actually put in the effort and made it free to play in time, before the whole playerbase died. From great clips, laughs, and arguments about whose fault it was for not smoking off snipernest, this game will have a special place in my heart, and I wish the community would think the same. I'll put this as a yes for recommendation, but bear in mind there's barely any players. If you're an "OG" of the CoD 2 and CoD 4 era, you'll love the game, but you'll have barely anyone to play with beside bots. I'm aware Bulkhead is bringing Wardogs. I'm a victim of trusting them again too, pre-ordering after Battalion 1944 failed and after how highly they spoke of ProMod, but we'll see. One thing's for sure though: no game in the world will give me the feeling Battalion gave me back in the day. P.S I miss you Battalion 1944
Bring this gem back...
