Backrooms Exploration

Finished after a couple of hours and a lot of frustration. Unnecessarily long, bugged events, glitched saves, is the biggest piece of d*gsh*t

Game was apparently fixed and I thought I'd get it on sale hoping for Liminal Mode. There is no Liminal Mode yet. Who knows when they'll make it. Honestly not sure if they'd make it interesting enough anyways based on the normal mode. I thought I'd give the normal mode a try. The puzzles were bland at best (I got through most of level 3 by the end of the time). Walking through a thin trail to avoid spikes (you won't because the hitbox is stupid) is apparently a puzzle. I kept it under 2 hours so I could possibly refund and what I got was hand-holding, easy puzzles, absolutely obnoxious sound design (especially all the grunts and moans from this guy), horrible jump scares, and some bugs like a warning meant for the dev about 130 unbuilt lighting objects popping up in the corner of my screen in big red letters... [b]Edit:[/b] I forgot to add that the game at one point somehow blocked my inputs and all I could do is listen to the game running in the menu. The only thing I could open was the dev console. The only nice thing I can say is the level design at least gave a Backrooms vibe. I'm refunding it. Maybe I'll buy again when/if Liminal Mode actually gets added and it's on a steep discount. It'd probably have to be $4ish again for me to even consider it. One of my personal rules for buying a game is that I'll at least get 1 hour of gameplay per $1 spent on it and this one was looking like it'd be around 4 or 5 hours total playtime...Liminal Mode would have to be pretty damn interesting to justify $8.

This is genuinely some of the biggest slop I've ever played, I genuinely can't list a single redeeming aspect about this game, it doesn't run well, the environments don't look good, the gameplay is literally just walking around mazes hunting for objects, there is barely even a coherent story, this game is literally just a quadruple stack nothingburger.

One of my top five Backrooms games on steam. i really enjoy this one, good items, great graffics, nice maps etc. 8/10

I really wanted to like this game, but unfortunately it's just a glorified puzzle game. Hopefully if liminal mode gets added, it'll change my mind on the game. But right now, I think I'm fine with quitting before finishing the game. I can see the effort that went into the game, I really did enjoy the visuals and traveling through some of my favorite levels, but a backrooms game needs to be more than this. I wouldn't mind the puzzles if there was just more. On a side note though, I may just be picky because I haven't really found a backrooms game that does it "right" in my opinion yet. Can't really rate the game as a whole since I didn't finish it but I'd say its maybe a 5/10. For me, it's carried by its nice visuals, but that most likely won't appeal to anyone else much.
