It's digital crack. Addictive and loads of fun. An amazing Shmup, the ability to control your ship's movement and direction is truly a breath of fresh air. Always wondered why other shumps have you flying into walls and unable to change direction despite supposedly flying a hyper advanced all range aircraft/spacecraft... This game finally gives you control and it's amazing. I can't praise this game enough. I only wish it had more control over the stage selection. A+
The game starts off great but the last third the difficulty creep is too much, it's not that it's impossible only unenjoyable and grindy. The inventory level system is meh, I finished the game without ever seeing the weapons I wanted at max level. If I had to play it again I would try easy mode.

Good Metroidvania-esque exploration game, but in a sidescrolling shmup format, featuring cats in submarines. Nice music, polished graphics, and solid gameplay - but having played similar games that feature twinstick controls (such as Cryptark), it does feel a little outdated.
Very simple little shooter. It's quite short and sweet. The music is awesome, tho. Only couple of the weapons felt usable. The laser used way too much energy, also some other higher damage weapons were not balanced well. I used only the shotgun and basic plasma throughout the game and they were okay. I played this on regular and there is no achievement for the higher difficulties so I'm not gonna attempt this again. Recommended on sale only, this is kinda way too simple and short to get bang for your buck.

Dull way to play+High quality+rich content=AAK Price is too high, buy this on a discount.
Astro Aqua Kitty is a curious game. It tries to be a simple shmup that incorporates Metroidvania elements for its levels. I find it does a great job for the price point. There is a decent amount of weapons & items you can equip your ship with, playing around with that setup is enjoyable. Same as the other Aqua Kitty games, if you want to play something relaxing that is trying its best to be a enjoyable gaming experience without being a Bullet-hell or Soulslike tough-as-nails experience, give Astro Aqua Kitty a try!
I feel really split about my thumb down here because, on one hand, it’s a well-executed game without a bug that has great visuals, good soundtracks, and some fun gamplay elements. However, while the gameplay is fun at the beginning, it gets old relatively quickly. And the main reason for this is because the substantial upgrade to your abilities kinda stoped after 1-2 (stage) levels. Also, at first, I was under the impression that you can swap out the pilot and engineer through the game, but that appears not to be the case, which limits the variety of gameplay you can experience through a gameplay quite significantly. As you progress through the different levels, the enemies keep getting stronger and more difficult, but you don’t acquire any new abilities to cope with them. You can buy or collect higher level weapons, but they only help you keep up with enemies that also have higher stats. The puzzle-solving part of the game also wasn’t set up progressively. There wasn’t any puzzle at all at the beginning, but suddenly at some later levels, they spring random puzzles at us. They just feel out of place and end up just being annoying and not that fun. It's crazy for me that the game lasts only 8 hours and yet it feels too long. Maybe, it would be better if I thought of it more like an old arcade game with a more linear progression. You can buy this game relatively cheap on sales though, so it's not like a major disappointment for me.
Любимая игра с шикарной музыкой и геймплеем. ждем продолжение.
