I haven't fully invested in sim racing yet, so I'm still at the stage of trying out different games before deciding whether I want to go all-in and start buying a proper sim racing setup. I saw Assetto Corsa EVO on sale and thought it would be a good opportunity to give sim racing a try without committing to all the expensive gear just yet.
The main reason I chose AC EVO instead of the original Assetto Corsa or ACC was simply because it's the newer game. I had also recently built a new PC and wanted to see how well it could handle a modern racing title.
So far, I've been pleasantly surprised. The game runs smoothly on my PC, and the overall experience feels great. Even as someone who hasn't fully invested in a wheel, pedals, and a complete sim racing setup yet, I can already see the appeal and understand why people can get so deeply into this hobby.
The driving experience is enjoyable, the visuals are impressive, and just cruising around and getting a feel for the cars has been a lot of fun. Since I'm still new to sim racing, AC EVO feels like a good starting point for me to explore whether this is something I want to invest more time and money into.
I'm sure there is still plenty for me to learn and experience, but based on my first impressions, I'm happy with my purchase—especially since I managed to get it during a sale. It definitely makes me more curious about what sim racing can offer once I eventually get a proper setup.
For now, I'm just enjoying the experience and slowly getting pulled deeper into the rabbit hole. 😅🏎️💨
