Pretty good, like a solid 8/10, Needs a community patch to run but is still fun. Though the ending feels a bit rushed if anything.
You can certainly see the Ubislop formula starting here, but it's not remotely as annoying because of the smaller scale. The gameplay is fun, and the detail is pretty good for its age, not meaning the graphics, but the interactive elements, attention to detail, parkour options and general combat. The story overall is surprisingly good and actually engaging (in contrast to other Assassin's Creed titles), even if the plot twist was really predictable. However, the dialogue is ass. Additionally, the game feels a little soulless in general due to insanely often repeated dialogue and limited executions. Worst of all, parkour over water is egregious. Not being able to swim is one thing, but sometimes your character jumps into the water for no reason when you just want to turn into a minimal corner, even when adjusting your thumbstick to match the angle. As if this wasn't enough, corners (especially ones on ships) have a good chance of glitching and making you fall right through. I'm writing this while enraged about this bs because when you're trying to run, about 50% of the time the game makes you jump into nothingness, which caused me to hate the Sibrand mission. All in all, it's pretty decent, but sadly it shows the first signs of the infinite repetition that lies ahead for the series while dragging along some annoying bugs. 6 - 6.5/10
★⯪☆☆☆

✦ 𝟏.𝟓/𝟓 ✦

Revolutionary in 2007. Rough as hell today.
◆ I know this one is controversial, but Assassin's Creed 1 aged like milk. I'm sure it was absolutely revolutionary when it came out, and you can still see why it made such an impact on open-world games. The core idea is great, the story is actually quite interesting, and the atmosphere of the Holy Land is fantastic. ◆ Unfortunately, the actual gameplay gets repetitive very quickly. Almost every assassination follows the same basic routine, and the side activities aren't much better. Even though the map is much smaller than in later Assassin's Creed games, it's absolutely stuffed with collectibles and repetitive tasks like saving random citizens. After a while, it starts feeling less like an open world and more like a checklist. ◆ The combat also hasn't aged particularly well. It's functional, but far from satisfying, and the lack of swimming is one of those design decisions that feels especially weird today. No subtitles are another surprisingly annoying omission, especially in a game with this much dialogue. ◆ Still, the locations deserve some credit. Acre in particular has an incredible atmosphere. The gloomy, grey streets and overall feeling of the Crusades give the game a distinctive character that many later entries don't quite manage to replicate. ✦ I respect what Assassin's Creed 1 did for the series, but respecting its legacy doesn't mean you have to enjoy playing it today. An important game historically, but a pretty rough experience in 2026.
Un clasicazo. Muy recomendado incluso a pesar de que hay que parchearlo para poder jugar y a veces se cierra solo.
Просто шок контент игруха имба даже в 2026 году

Well for it being almost 20 years old it ain't that bad but the missions are extremely repetetive where to you loose interest to finish the story. For 100% not only does it not have achivements but the requiremens are boring as hell too cause its all collectables, around 400 to say. And even when you open the game in the beginning it just won't open and you gonna have to insall something or follow a guide to play it. So yea if you coma to finish the ac series or nostalgia play it, but if you dont know what to play and this might be intresting i would tell you otherwise.
Assassin’s Creed is a classic action-adventure game that introduced players to the conflict between the Assassins and the Templars. Playing as Altaïr, you explore detailed historical cities, gather information, and plan assassinations from rooftops, crowds, and hidden locations. The parkour movement and open city design were groundbreaking at the time, making it satisfying to climb towers, escape guards, and find your own path through each mission. Its atmosphere and historical setting still give the game a unique identity. The mission structure can become repetitive, and the controls may feel dated compared with newer entries. Even so, the original Assassin’s Creed is an important and enjoyable game for players who want to experience where the long-running series began.
