Runs like garbage even on low settings. Takes up over 200gb lol Outdated crafting/survival mechanics. Way better games in the genre. Not worth it, even on its $15 sale.

ive been playing this game since 2019 and its the best thing that ever happend to me

Just play the original, ascended has some many bugs man while also being so unoptimized because of.. UNREAL ENGINE 5 AGHHHHH, worst engine ever, its pretty but it sucks bad- if you really wanna get into ark survival please just play evolved, its on unreal 4 and its super smooth now for most setups while having that simple pretty ascetic, gameplay wise yeah this game has a ton more content then the original but it has pay to win mechanics which makes it hella not fun to play in pvp servers so I wouldn't recommend that- overall for the price? Get evolved. Dont get this game til they properly fix it man cuz right now? They do he focusing on content over actually making the game optimized and stable to play, ♥♥♥♥ you unreal 5. I will always hate you.

If you're on Linux, for the love of your sanity, don't touch this game. I'll freeze your screens and you'll be sitting there hoping that it will recover... because it usually does, though it might take up to 10 minutes. And sometimes it doesn't, and then you'll get to reset your PC. Given that this game is out for over 2.5 years and mostly a 1:1 copy of Ark Survival Evolved except for the visuals, I'm baffled at how unstable it is. Add to that fun OS-independent things like: - Beloved annoyances from the original game, like horrible dino hitboxes or crossbows not reloading on occasion - Randomly losing your connection to the server, very nice in mid-flight - Updates on Friday evening/night that somehow manage to prevent you from joining your self-hosted, up-to-date dedicated server with an up-to-date client for 1-2 hours. (ASA Bonus: No sensible error messages, just random failures that'll keep you guessing whether something's wrong on your end) - Pretty much all game content is in a single 188 GB file that will get completely rewritten on each small update. And for the update, you'll need another 188 GB for the temporary file. So you'll want it on a fast SSD, sacrifice 200 GB permanently and cannot use the final 200 GB if you want to keep it up-to-date. What a hot mess...
