I am recommending this game, but I'd get it on sale. The campaign is fairly short and although fun, it lacks some of the polish I would expect from a full game. A LOT of the resources were reused, so after the first level you are killing the same zombies you already killed a number of times. The physics are ok, it is enjoyable to kill zombies as they explode nicely and squish, but when dead they ragdoll badly. The guns feel good to use and there are a decent amount of them when you factor in subtypes. There are several different handgun types and smg types. The game is linear as it can be, and often when you would expect you could go back or find a defensible place, you actually cant as the game blocks you. Some of the zombies are very slow and some are very fast and will run at you. They can be hard to headshot, and some wear protection of various types. They can be killed with body shots, but it can take a number of shots with some guns. No matter the difficulty, you will have a section on about every level where you will have a ton of zombies running at you and you will have to defend. The zombies are stupid though and cannot open doors or hop through windows, which means you can cheese them if you want, and I needed to on several spots. I was excited to use the sniper but they make it only available in specific instances, and because the game is set up to be linear and have them ambush you (as opposed to open world), you wouldn't get many opportunities anyway the way it is set up.
A negative for me was that the game makes you stand. I would recommend using a roomscale setup instead of a stationary as moving around helps a lot, and the game allows you to hang out a window to fire and look over balconies and such. It helps and is fun. I would prefer if they would make the game more chair friendly though. It's almost impossible as it makes you too short to see anything.
Some people sink tons of time into the game, but I don't really see the replay value (or really the initial draw, tbh). The game is fun, but far from the best VR game and certainly not the best shooter. Zombies are very aggressive and will tear you up in seconds if they get on you. You have to kill them before they get close but you can have 10 running at you at once. It can be challenging, in that aspect.
There are a lot of VR games that are absolute trash so the bar is pretty low, but on that scale I'd say this is a 6/10. I am doubting I will play it beyond the 8h I put into the campaign so for a $$->time it is pretty low, but they are action packed hours, at least.
